Rear Shocks
« on: January 31, 2010, 01:26:28 PM »
Ok guys,

I got the Mustang II 8" rear, maybe going in today along with the original Mustang II shock mounts. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good rear shock. I'm going with the Mustang setup as I heard there are more optons if you use the Mustang II rear shock setup. Don't know if I want to spend the $$ on Koni's right now.

 Joe ,
Congrats on the 8". My 72 has a M2 8" with spring/lower shock mounts. The M2 uses a different rear Shock lower mount, using the "eye" rather than the Post type attachment. My rear sway bar and mount (M2) utilizes the different mount for pickup too.
The Upper shock mount is the same for both axle types. Lowering blocks require some creativity though.
Using KYB shocks but will switch to Koni adj soon.
