Here is a pic of the Motor I just installed in my Pangra. I am currently writing up a spec sheet on it. The SVO T5 was installed as well as the Aluminum driveshaft. See my web page in the personal web page section for details
WOW!
I only wish I do that to my 72!
That looks great!! :o Much nicer then mine. Here is a pic of what I've got going on.
Oh so cool, lots of work in there. Just a question, Did you have to make new motor mounts or find some from other vehicle? thanks
Its a 2.0 motor so the moter mounts are the same. Here is a side view. Note, thats a T5 trans out of a 84 SVO ;D
Is that paint or powdercoat?
that is paint. Its a custom color by Sherman Williams. Its got a base coat, 3 color coats and 3 coats of clear.
Hey Brad, what bell housing are you using for the T-5? Is it the later hydraulic clutch ones or the earlier cable or even the T-4 bellhousing that Bugsturbo has mentioned? I'm doing this swap soon as my T-5 came out of an 87 T-coupe(have hydraulic clutch bell housing). A picture of the other side would do wonders for me. How did you switch to the 10 spline? Was it just a disk swap or did you have to change the pressure plate as well?
Paul, The bellhousing is a 1984 SVO bell with the cable type pull for the throughout. As for the 10 spline you will need a 10 spline clutch disc thats fits you flywheel and pressure plate and thats it. The T5 is a 10 spline. I dont know if this pic helps but here is the drivers side.
Hella nice!! good work
Thats real nice.
Here are 2 new pics of the Turbo and carb set up.
Here is the side view
Here is a look at the oil cooler and fuel filter\regulator. I dont have the bracketry as I like it yet but its a start.
New Picture of the Radiator and oil cooler as of 7/5/03. I will be building a shroud for the top in polished Aluminum
This just showes the oil cooler lines and remote mounted oil filter.
Ok guys I think I found the perfect wheel for this Pangra. what do you think
Just an idea Brad, but throw a lil color between the spokes... Might look nice... I can tell ya got more money and time to spend on yer car than I do mine, I thank I did good if it runs and none of the wires smoke... LMAO!
Hey Brad, what turbo is that? T3 or T4 .....or maybe even T3T4 hybred? What are the A/R numbers on it do you know? I'm kinda into turbos a bit.
The turbo is a T4 with a .69 AR and an "N" turbine wheel. Its probably not the " best" turbo for this combo but it works well.
the hot side A/R sounds good....but it really depends on what the compressor side is ;D A full T4 is a fairly large turbo for a 2.0 liter engine....but obviously Miller knew what he was doing! I was going to do a full boggie 2.3 in mine, Essliger head, stainless header and a T3T4 hybred with a stage III .63 hot side and a T04 "E" 50 trim compressor......a set up good for over 400 hp But i changed my mind, then i was going to twin turbo my 351, bought two T3's rebuilt them and changed my mind again.....decided a N/A 351 with EFI would be easiest and best. Here is a pic of the turbos
Jeff, I agree this T4 would not be my first choice of turbo's from the selection "today" to choose from. One of the nice things about the T4 exhaust housing is that its a center flange housing and allows the whole turbo to hang lower off the manifold than a T3 exhaust housing would ( which is an offset and raises the whole turbo "up", off the manifold). The T3/T4 stage III is what I use on my 2.5 Aluminum head motor in the Green Pinto, However, If I was doing it again I would opt for a T66 ballberring turbo which has a better compressor map for my motor than the T3/T4.
There were a few guys asking how I adapted the T5 to the 2L block. Here is a pic of the adaption. I used studs in the bell and notched it low for a bolt into the block.
Here is another view
Nice work Brad! Did you come up with that, or is it a common 2.0 trick?
I dont know if any one else does this but this was my idea of how it should work.
seriously wicked lil horse. hope my lil horse comes out that nice.
Thanks, I think It will do well on the street ;D
Here is the shroud I just made to cover the top of the radiator.
front view. I still need to weld up the 2 seams.
This is where the NOS solenoids are mounted. This is the bottom of the carb plenum. Cant see them from up top.
oh your sneaky! I like that!
Here are a few of the most recent pics of the motor.
The front shot. I have some detail shots that will show some of the different fab parts.
This is the throttle cable/bell crank. I use a portion of the stock unit attached to a bell crank and a Lokar 24 inch cable to the carb
For the breather tank I shortened up a standard Summit breather
I extended the clutch cable bracket to add more length to the cable for the 5 speed bell.
Here is the crossover tube that I will later paint the color of the motor.
I routed the heater hose down so it would not crowed the top of the motor and built a heat shield for it, ( the 3" exhaust down pipe im sure will get a little hot)
a shot of the fans
Looks good to see a 2000cc live on with some boost. Here's a picture of my old 72 that I turboed back in 1985. As often said, wish I still had that car!
looks great Brad......LOVE the shiney! ;)
SIGH i guess now that tennessee FINALLY has a lottery I MIGHT be able to do that to my '74
Till then i'll just begreen with envy :'(
Jeff, shiney= good ;)
Here Is Tony, the guy who is writing a book on ford cars. He spent about 3 hrs at my house taking pictures for the book. Mainly he took pictures of the Red Pangra but he also took a bunch of pics of all my other ( stuff)
brad # 1 i need a hatch like the one you have in the pic on your green car. know where i can find one? Do you have one?
Thanks
Brad #2
I will keep my eye out of one.
thanks
no updates lately bro......still working on it?
Today I was working on the rear suspension. Got the leaf springs all apart and cleaning them up. Im going to add one leaf ( 1/2 leaf) to the front side of the spring and clamp it up for an anti spring wrap deal. I ordered my shackle kit ( rear shackle and front eye) from Prothane ( kit # 6-1051), my rear sway bar brackets and end link ( also Prothane). I also bought from Ebay ( I hope this guy does not flake cuz I payed with Paypal) a PowerTrax No-Slip posi unit. I say that becouse I payed on Thursday and still have not heard from the guy ??? After I get the suspension installed and the rearend in, I can build my fuel cell/NOS/battery box unit that will be recessed into the floor of the trunk ( leaving enough space for the 3" exhaust, I hope :o
GO BRAD GO............GO BRAD GO!
;D
Here Is a pic of the spring package. As you can see the spring size gets smaller from the main leaf down to the smallest that sits on the perch. The leaf in the foreground is the extra leaf I am adding. As you can see by lineing up the center hole of them all, the 1/2 Leaf is forward of center and on top of the main leaf.
This Pic shows the order the springs will go in.
More info to come as I get them together.
where did you get them from brad? How much $$
Here is the cool part. I made them. YES ITS HARD TO CUT A SPRING.....However It can be done with about 4 sawsall blades and a can of WD40 per cut. I used the second leaf from a spair leaf package I had and was able to get both pieces out of it.
Here is the spring package together ( dont worry Jeff I will be painting the clamps shiney black) I left the clamps un-painted so you can see them. This is how the spring looks with the extra leaf.
Here is a closer pic of the extra spring and clamp.
Next was the spring/shackle kit. I ordered a kit for a 67/68 mustang from summit part # PTP-6-1051. This is a Prothane urethane kit. The dimentions were correct except the OD on the small side ( shackle end). I did a quick mod on that and it all works. Here are some pic's ( some not verry good) of the install.
The Big end.
size difference, The kit comes with a 1.390 and you will need to turn it down to a 1.02 ish size.
here is how I did it. I chucked the bushing up in my cordless like so.
And then ran it at a 90 deg on my sanding center.
the final product.
you will need to put a slite chamfer on the end also. A before and after look.
The bushing installed.
Cool
That bushing doesnt look too shiney after you deglazed it on the sander. ::) :P
:-*
Yeah, but I dont feel too bad becouse I saw pic's of the under side of Jeffs car and it has ( shh, rust) :o
well yea.....its a Canadian car....eh..
The 8 inch is installed. Here are a few pictures of the install. I have not painted everything ( shiney) yet becouse I wanted you to see the different parts. By the way, the pinion angle is NOT yet set correctly. I will have that corrected next and show you what I did.
Here is the mounting section. as you can see, there is a lot of stuff on there. I have the 1 inch lowering block, pinion angle wedge and extra spring added to the mix.
here is the shackle installed with the new urethane bushings.
Is that one of those nice light weight aluminium drive shafts I see in one of the pics? It is something SHINEY whatever it is!
Yes It is a shiney Aluminum Driveshaft.
pinto joe where?how did you make or get youro turbo setup??? i didn't know that i could turbo my 2.0... any pointers???
I've been working on my fuel cell area of the trunk. Here are a few pictures of the lowered cage I bult to house the fuel sump, battery and NOS. Its not shiney yet but it will be soon.
Another view.
And the view from the bottom. I will post next with the fuel system installed and Al. skin installed.
Did you do all the welding on the aluminum? They sure look like some damn fine welds if I don't say so myself! :o
How thick is it?
I ended up cutting the wheel well right out of mine and bought some 1"x1" steel to make a frame like yours. Too bad I didnt have enough time to start welding it up.
The pics are going to help me. Thanks.
Pete, here is a picture of the cage out of the car and painted. It is 5 3/4 deep which puts the dropped area of the tank just at bottom of rear vallance level.
Here is a pic of the fuel pumps and lines. The left pump is for the Engine and the right pump is for the NOS.
A little closer look.
Thanks for the pics they are helping out a lot. At first I didnt realize you had a "floor" in in the frame. I think Ill do the same. I was planning a removeable frame also. Im still planning on swapping everything into a better body in the future.
Dont tell my wife, but, Ive been looking in the classifieds for another Pinto. Im really using a lot of will power to keep from buying one. Im going to keep with a wagon and thats making it a little easier to handle.

Im pretty sure Brad bought the cell from Summit.
Yes, thanks for reminding to post. The tank Is a Summit 15 Gal tank with foam and a sender.
Here are a few of the latest pic's of the trunk area. I hope Jeff thinks it's shiney enough. BTW, yes the battery is under that Billit lid.
Oh I forgot to say that is not polished up yet........ :P
i'm searching through my parts cataloge right now, looking for something new and shiney......so i can keep up with the you!
That is by far the shiniest trunk I have ever see. I don't know if you should polish it; you won't be able to see anything. Get out the welding helmet!
Jeff- I think you are going to have to buy multiple parts to equal the shiney factor here.
My eyes! 8)
Looking great.
Jeff.
How about a chrome headliner? ;D
I cant stand seeing my little red wagon just sitting in the parking lot. :'( In about half a year Ill have a garage though. :)
Im just finishing up the trunk this week and am going to start the 5 lug Granada rotor swap. Should be a hoot :P
If you look at the FAQ section in the Front disc brakes you will see what im doing with the 5 lug Granada rotors. BTW I went to the junk yard yesterday 9/8/04, and ALL the granada's had the front spindle, rotors etc pulled off. Hmm, I wonder what thats all about.
Brad, they are a direct swap into '65-'70 Mustangs. Very common swap.
I thought I would post a few pic's of my trunk now that is done. Please do not pay attention to the finger prints on the Aluminum. I was having a hard time with the glare and the flash would bounce all over If I cleaned it up. Note the power cut off switch on the side wall.
Here is one more. ( I know, it looks like there are two pair of wires and two stainless lines but its just the reflection of the mirrior polish on the aluminum) ;D
Here is the fuel pumps completed with wireing etc.
My eyes! My eyes! 8) That's better.
Looks awsome! Very tidy and shiney!
Not quite shiney as I want it but it will do for now... ( thanks for the compliment) ;)
ALL HAIL Brad, the reigning king of SHINEY 8)
Sorry Jeff, you're just the Crown Prince of SHINEY :P
Me? I don't even qualify for the Court Jester of shiney :'( ....YET!! ;)

Another view.
Brad, i was looking at your pictures, and i noticed your NOS bottle is pointing the wrong way. I was told, and read that the siphone tube needs to stay in the liquid nitrous, but the way you have it, on accelaration, the liquid would uncover the tube wouldn't it?
actually, I did a little research on that and its not all that bad. In my application, I will not be using it to spool to the turbo but rather use it at WOT in high gear to help pull the grear. BUT, if you notice the bottle in my Green 2.5 I have it facing the other way becouse I used it up against my trans brake to spool the turbo.
fair enough! I'm thinking my bottle is NOT going to fit in the trunk without a floor lowering modification, but i haven't measured yet. What say you?
The Bottle does take some height to install. The probblem with a trunk vs a hatch is that there is verry little ( head) roon in the trunk. And, if your pointing the bottle forward this makes matters worse. I dont rember what your trunk looks like but, if you are cutting away more trunk floor there will be more room on the passanger side than the drivers side. A bottle will take about 8" min clear width and about 22" in length.
i went out, took the bottle and brackets with me, it will fit length wise, but you gotta reach deep to get the bootle open. I'll probably mount it crosswise, for ease of reach and removal. (darn small cars ;D)
Yeah, and if you mount it so the neck is facing the drivers side then when the car stands up on the bumper and the suspension twists so the rear left is squating and right front wheel is about 2 ft higher, then the bottle will be perfect.......... :P ;D
lol, i'm getting my buddy to make me an airbag for the right rear to eliminate that nasty roll, next season it will launch with no body roll! I just sent him all the measurements yesterday.
Pictures of the completed 5 lug 11" front brakeing system are now on the FAQ , Front Brake topic for you to view
nice work dude!
Thanks.............. 8)
I got my down pipe made and installed today. I think it came out nice. NOTE, I did not need to move the heater fan. This is a 3" pipe all the way back.
Here is the outlet of the down pipe.
This is the pipe that will be under the car.
cool....but it's not shiney?! ??? ;)
With the heat wrap i guarantee it's COOL. 8) I bet that's #1 prority on that pat... carrying the heat AWAY from the motor. Without that heat wrap the reast of Brad's excellent work wouldn't stay SHINEY long. (I won't mention a certain [currently unshiney] 351w I've heard about LOL)
i'd get them ceramic coated.....minutes after you shut the car off, you can grab ahold of the pipes and they are cool. And they are shiney 8)
The flowmaster muffler is not shiney becouse it was off the 289 car. Otherwise thats a 3"x4' length of stainless pipe thats, ( kinda shiney) ;) And I got it FREE from Gale Banks................. ;D

Looking great Brad.
Have you used header wrap before?
Looking back on all your posted pictures on this car Brad.....you for sure have the bling meter pegged!
I have not used header wrap before this project.
Well, Ive got 11 weeks before the Knotts Ford show and I still need to paint the car. It wouldnt be so bad but the fiberglass is taking about 1million hours to prep :'(. Anyways, Im still going back and forth with the wheels. Now Im looking at doing an " all black wheel" maybe having something powder coated. ??? ??? ???
Well, I got the beast fired up today. WOW, this thing is nasty.... I will try and post an audio of what it sounds like. Your not going to believe its a 2.0 motor. More to come.......... ;D ;D ;D
Meanwhile, this is the state its in...........
And it all went down to the metal ( and fiberglass ).........just about ready to paint.
Allmost ready for some paint.

hehehe, well, the other credo is " the older I get the more I need to doubble check things". I cant tell you how many nuts and bolts I find loose............. :o
Brad, the Pangra is lookin BEAU_TI_FUL!!! It's so nice that you may not get points in a show cuz the judges were blinded by the SHINEY!! :P Thanks to guys like you the Pinto is WELL represented!
Thanks, I appreciate the comment. My SHINEY was almost tarnished yesterday when I was running it for the first time. About 10 min into the break-in cycle the upper radiator came off and blew hot antifreeze/water all over the place. The other bad thing was I was standing right in front of it when it happened and got doused with 180 deg water. Cant tell you how that su@ks, I got burned on both legs and one arm. Still does not fell great today ( the good news is I got all of it off my SHINEY parts............ :o :o ::) :'(
OWWWWWWW!!!!! Been there, done that I had a radiator cap blow off (of course I was being stupid & opening it while it was hot) I was standing directly in front of it & got the most of it on my chest. It didn't feel right for a week or two. Now I know what a lobster feels like!!!
A few up date pictures on the paint. The door is 3 coated with base and a small repair going on. The body has the first clear coat.
You guys know how I like shiney...... ;D This is four coats of base, each coat wet sanded between with 1500 over four coats of primer and the first clear coat.
So, what does a work bench look like when Painting............ :-\
:o Looking great as usual, Brad. The bench looks like the back of my wagon when I was working on it.

Thanks. I got the interior done and doors painted now. The Powder coater jacked up my door handles, front window trim and rear bumper....... >:( >:(, needless to say im not happy................ >:( >:(
Well, hear is a good one for ya all. after firing the car up and running it I noticed that the oil pressure guage was pegged at 100+ lbs oil pressure. I figured it was broken or something so I installed a mechanical guage at the oil feed to the turbo. It to showed 100+ lbs oil pressure. After a few days of thinking and calls to both Dan and Dwayne Esslinger it was concluded that my Hi volume/Hi pressure Melling oil pump was defective. Dwayne said he thinks I could have hada up to 200 lbs oil pressure ( this would be the bad part). SO, I called Summit, they called Melling and the next day at 9:00 am I had a new ( stock) oil pump. I pulled the rack, dropped the sway bar, pulled the pan, installed the new pump etc......... Fired it up and now have 70 lbs oil pressure at 1300 rpm cold and about 60 lbs warm ( from a STOCK pump). Who needs anything more????? as a matter of fact its probbably to much ( I will be changing oil from 20/50 to a streight wt oil.  :o >:( :P ;D
I installed a high volume pump on a previous 2.3 project and while bump starting the engine to check valve lash, it shot the oil across my ceiling and down my brother before figured we should throw the cover on.
On Friday, April 8th, I went down and helped Brad with his Pangra. We got the brakes working, the doors and decklid aligned and working well, and determined why the oil pressure went away when running the engine to test changes Brad had done. All-in-all, a fairly productive day, plus, for lunch, Brad fed me one of the best pita sandwiches I've ever had!! :) I'll let Brad fill in all the details later!

Yes, many many Thanks to Brian for all the help with the car. I have yet to try out the brakes........ :o.......... But I'm sure they will work well..... ;D........ This weekend I got the door handles back from the powdercoater and installed them as well as the inside panels etc.Got the front fenders on ( finally, after dropping one of them while the paint was wet and spending about 5 extra hours doing scratch repair and fixing a piece of gel coat that fell off........ >:( ). Any way, a little more paint and some clear coat and a test run.........everybody cross their fingers... ;)
good job, get the test run on video, i'd love to see it!
Lets see some pics ;D
Hey Brad, did you have much trouble getting the oil galley plug taken care of?
Hey, is this the car you are trying to finish for the Knott's Ford show? If it is, oh man will it be a sight to see. You have done some fantastic work from what I can seen. Can't wait to see it in person. Good Luck! :D
Brian, the oil galley plug was only 1/2 of the equation. after I fired it up I STILL did not have oil pressure. So, I once again removed the aux cover plate but noticed that my fix was working. I could spin the dist shaft and see no oil leaking out the plug. The oil pressure would go up to 25 lbs then drop down to 12. SO..............off goes the pan.................again......... however I did find the culprit. It seams that the oil pick up tube had loosened from the pump causing a mass leak inside the block. Its fixed now............... >:( >:( >:( :o.........Any way Now I'm working on fitting the Hood ( which needs some massaging). Nothing like taking it down to the wire. OH BTW, I fixed the throttle cable bracket so it does not move. I added another bracket to it. More news to come tomorrow....

Its never too late to start clear coating your car ( even when its 2 days before a show.......... :o :o )
So the clear coat did not go well but at least I have a clean garage. Here are a few pic's of the ( not yet done car" but a clean garage. 8)

Hey Brad,
Those wheels look familiar. ;D
Loose the blacked out taillight frames. TOO much Black.
Nothing looks better than Black and Chrome!!!!!

Hey brad, haven't you heard?... A clean garage is a sign of a sick mind!?! LOL
Peronally I think both are lookin GREAT! Knowing all the work that went INSIDE the Pangra & what went on it that garage for the last month or so, I know MY stuff wouldn't look that good!

Okay, I spent too much time today finishing this puzzle over and over again. :P
At least you do not have to flip all the pieces right-side up first!!!
Well, it seems like I have done something that might not have been done before... surprised The last time I ran the car, while on deceleration the engine stopped. It looked like I threw a timing belt. To make a long story short. I noticed the Aux shaft was not turning. So, How to get the shaft out of the engine? I fabbed a puller and pulled it out. What was stuck ? take a look at the pictures. The first pic is what a good shaft should look like.
Now, lets compare that with what I pulled out just for fun.
I really hope I can save this block as it is a Cosworth Turbo block............ >:(
ewwww...man that bites
FrankBoss
:'( that is UGLY. i hope you can save it
So, I am tearing down the engine and I notice something else I dont like. It seems that the head gasket was leaking. I had a similar issue with the Green 2.5 Turbo car. I think I know how to fix it.
The gasket held up fine between the head and the gasket but the block side did not hold up very well.
The block side of the gasket interfaces with the " O " ringed block. the O rings ride just on the outside of the fire ring of the head gasket.
You might be able to see in the upper right corner of this pic, a slight depression just around the outside edge of the head gasket fire ring.
The water seepage is not much and amounts to steam but its still an issue, as you can see. what I have done in the past is use a small amount of silicone and " wipe " the surface of the gasket prior to install. Then I use about 1/2 of the radiator stop leak. That seems to cure this issue.
So, I am swapping blocks and using a standard Pinto block instead of the Cossie block. The aux shaft in the Cossie block will need to be delt with at another time. So for now, I will use my spare block. Below are pictures of the two blocks. The purple is the cossie block and the blue block is the standard Pinto block
The numbers on the cossie block are 205 as you can see from the photos. There are other different numbers also. See photos.
The standard Pinto block have the following numbers.
One of the things I had to do is relieve the piston at the exhaust valve. BTY this is NOT really the best way to do this but it works. I used clay to check the clearance between the piston and valve. Actually, the ex valve would never get this close to the piston because at TDC the valve is not at full open, But, for safety sake and in case I break a belt etc I wanted to be safe,
The finished product looks ok.
The next picture I wanted to show you is what I did with the intake ports. As you can see I raised the bottom of the port and raised the top.
Damn. Nice.
what material did you use to raise the floor of the ports? are the 2.3 heads as restrictive in the valve pockets as the 2.0 heads?

JB Weld ;)
The 2.3 head is a little better in the valve pocket than the 2.0
Ok, so its time to bolt on some stuff and get the engine back in the car.
Pictures of the flywheel and clutch/pressure plate
Next the pressure plate goes on.
Next, the engine goes back in the car. But wait, whats this ????
That does not look like the same set up as before......Hmmm, what could I be up to now?
One more pic
Very nice.
your gonna pressurize the holley?

The turbo is a T4 with a .69 AR and an "N" turbine wheel. Its probably not the " best" turbo for this combo but it works well.
that is what i used on mine originally. i did like the t4 because of the 'on-center' design. i did try a .96 ar but couldn't get the thing to respond like i "needed" it to on the street on friday & saturday nights on the blvd here in whitter. it also wasn't the best at the 1/4 mile (considering what i had to work with)
street use it's great because of it's quick response but at the top end it tends to pump to much pressure (remember the time frame here) leading to detonation problems. Mind you I'm talking back in the early '70's. Intake charge temp was a problem. Fuel distribution was a problem.
i had a .96 off set on mine for a while and the top end was unbelievable but i couldn't (at the time) make it live. It was a street fighter so i changed it back.

i had a feeling you might be going that way when you inquired about 'hats' a while back
you think a plastic hat will hold the pressure?
Innercooler.....well, I have been working on the innercooler for a bit and thought I would post some ( pre shiny " pictures of the progress to date.
The picture above ant this one shows the Hat I am using that the plumbing from the hat top the innercooler.
This is the Hot side of the plumbing.
This Picture shows the large pipe where the filter will mount and the connection ( still need the 90* ) to the innercooler.
Here is a picture of how it looks from the top.
very nice...
Brad: That looks awesome!!! Will we get to see it up close at Knott's? Hope so.....Joe
A work of art of the highest order :drunk:
Here is the wee-lil beast basically put together. I still need to put the shine on the car.
Another picture of the exhaust side of the car.
The intake side of the car.
And the front end of the car.
Agreed, a work of art.
Chuck
WOW!
I bet you get a a lot of gratification knowing that you've done it all by YOUR hands, and that such a beautiful work of art resides in your garage. :D
If you happen to have a tuning issue go for the 685 first, We lost 3 685s last year..
Thanks for the comments guys. ;D
I've put some time in this motor and appreciate the thumbs up.
MAP351.... Do you mean the 685 Mallory Hy Fire ignition? So far its been preforming well. What is it about the ignition that goes bad ?
Thanks
Yep,the 685 Mallory. Started having tuning issues power degrades then up in smoke..
Mike
I got the car started today. Fired right up ( I hope that is a good sign ).

did it sound 'right'? with or without a muffler? did you get it onto the street?
The car sounded great. I did have the muffler on it though. Probably wont get it on the street untill next weekend. I still need to adjust the clutch and my oil pressure guage is not working for some reason ( Its not a probblem with the oil pressure but its at the guage ).
OK, So after I ran and tuned this combo I discovered, via a wide band O2 that There really is no way to tune this the way I need to. The Holly 500 can be tuned for idle and off idle OR for when the boost comes in. ITs Either to lean OR to Fat Soooo, I solved the problem by installing a Holley 650 double pumper. See below.
There is a few things I did to this carb to prep it for boost. One of the things I had to do was cut the choke horn off. It was in the way of the air flow through the Hat.
I used an Offenhouser manifold ( because I already had it )But I did a little work on the inside of it. Those you you that know what the inside of one of these looks like can appreciate the work... The second pic is one I lifted from ebay. Look at the center section of the plenum.
Another thing I did was install a blowoff valve. Hard to see under all the lines.
OK, so this Winter I will be installing the Waste gate mounted on an Ak Mller Ex manifold. Below are some pictures of it.
I hated to drill a hole in an Ak Miller manifold, but some things cant be helped........ :o
So, how is the hot pants kit coming? This is something I would certainly want to get in the uture. Also, how much different would it be for the 77 wagon. From clip from a later model car. Thanks.
This car is now for sale. Please see the classifieds . You can also use this thread to ask questions etc.
