« on: July 17, 2004, 01:17:04 PM »
I'm new to the pinto world, I've been into fox bodied mustangs forever but just recently decided to tackle a v-8 into a pinto. My question is this,  How much can I expect this thing to weigh with its done roughly. Its a 72 runabout and we are dropping in a carbed 302 with the basics. no a/c or p/s. any help apprecitiated.

The original engine and transmission weigh in the 350 - 380 lb range. Subtract that from your vehicle's weight on the data sticker and add in whatever a 302 and according transmission weigh.

*Roughly* I'd guesstimate that you're adding 150 - 200 lbs to the overall weight of the vehicle, although it may be a bit more.
I left my Pinto in front of my house last night. This morning there were two more left with it.

Tom weighed his '71 with the 351w and it was 2750 pounds with him in it and his large bulky C6
