Turbo install website
« on: May 22, 2006, 11:25:41 PM »
I am putting together a site to help others with the 2.3 Turbo install. I would like to ask all that have completed the install to write a page or two about any problems or info that may help others like myself in the installation of this AWSOME engine upgrade. I know some but none will no all! If you would like to help please send pics and DIY instrucions to efinstuf@gmail.com. I know I would like some help and in the future many others will too. Please help bring together a good site where we can get full and accurate guides. If you have wiring diagrams or pics of your complete processes please email them to me. I will also be putting other links to sites that may help so if you have anything for sale that may be useful to others in the 2.3 Turbo ring, I can get it up on the site as well. Especially parts like T5 mounting kits or conversion brackets for the 2.0 to a 2.3 motor mount. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

I would think you would have to get permission but this site has a wiring diagram that works.  It also matches my Merkur harness.

I'm currently turboing my bobcat... but I don't think it'll really help you... since I'm using a custom header/ turbo placement and using megasquirt to handle my spark & fuel... I'll also be using the original bobcat 2.3 block/crank and adding a turbo head and pistons... So I'll be placing an oil return in the oil pan... Maybe the fuel system stuff... but I haven't tackled that yet myself...

Good luck with your project... it sounds like it will be helpful...

Look at Topic: 72 2.5 turbo pinto  in "Your Racers". He has Photos and everything.

Quickrick just shipped me 2.3 frame mounts and 2.3 engine mounts. I will take photos of the parts off the car and engine for your book.

I am in the begining of the same thing on my 72. I will be photoing every step. Cutting out the old mounts....Posi tioning and welding of the 2.3 frame mounts....ect.

I am not going Turbo on my 1st one just a hot little carb engine.

Here is a link to my progress....To day scrubbing the empty engine compartment and starting to scrape crossmember and front end clean of crud. Then photos of stock wiring location before I pull the wiring harness. Also photos of brake lines before pulling them for cleaning . I like shiney!!!

Here is a link to the project...I will delete the photos of the Turbo parts when they  are sold

Bye for now...Looking forward to helping in any way I can.

I also have parts like 2.3 c4 bel housing for photos ect.

Good Idea, but it has been done (sort of): turbopinto.com, and most of the info is here on this site.

There are so many different parts and combo's, it is hard to put together all the info.
