starting my 2.3 project and need help to start

i need help with my pinto project. i have a 77 and want to stay stock with a carb. no turbo, but then again want that extra power. for some reason i want to still keep it a carb but want to swap the engine for a draw through from a 79- 80 capri or mustang 2.3l. i have no idea why i dont want to run it fuel injected.

so my questions are

how to make my n/a stock 2.3l quick with add ons and bore ratios and gears etc...?

are the 79 -80 capri/ mustang engine worth swaping in?

Performance from a stock motor is mostly about tuning. Make sure your ignition system is in good shape (including the timing belt) and that you have a fresh fuel filter and good fuel pressure. There are things you can do to improve a stock looking motor internally such as camshaft, larger bore, valve work, etc. Or you could go "mostly stock" and add a header, and an "Offenhauser" intake manifold for a 4 barrel carb (they pop up on e-bay pretty often). There's also a neat dual 2 barrel side draft setup ( like the racer walsh setup) that will set you back about $850. Just some options.
