I had my first Bobcat wagon in 1976,it was a demo I ordered it at the Lincoln Mercury Dealer I was parts manager at they gave it me to drive it was a white villager v6 automatic with a standard blue interior AM radio but factory air! I ordered a 77 in blue/blue deluxe interior and a AM 8 track!wow!it had air and optional wheels it was a good looking wagon!I left that job and the Bobcat in late 77 and aways wanted another one but I wanted a Pinto surfer wagon too! I missed a real nice yellow 78' surfer wagon in 1982 and ended up with a lime green/green int v6 plain Pinto wagon with air by 84'.I found a Surfer wagon in the junk yard as I was converting the green Pinto to a Bobcat in 85 but the yard would not part with anything off of it.I gave up and sold the Bobcat conversion in 86 as a fellow worker gave me a 1978 Orange/orange cloth int Pinto 2300 squire for free it needed a head gasket I drove it a little and sold it in 88.I was on E Bay one day around 1999 or so and saw a pair of surfer panels so I bid and won he had gauges too so I bought them the seach began for a good Pinto or Bobcat wagon and not a squire or villager well I found a villager for 40.00 with a bad v6 not want I wanted at the time but the hood, grille etc... were worth 40.00! It took another 3 years to find my now 78 Pinto 2300 wagon red/black std int air so now I have that dream project after many years of waiting !!!
