Fun Ford Sunday- 2010
« on: July 22, 2010, 05:31:24 PM »
The 14th Annual Fun Ford Sunday car show will be held on Sunday, September 12th, at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo, CA. This is a must do event for the group up in Northern California and hopefully some of our members can again attend from down south. We had 10 fantastic Pintos at the show last year so let's redouble our efforts and try for 20!! Kim alone can make that happen?? Go to www.funfordsunday.com to see the detailed information and let's get ready to have another fun event.

Joe in Morgan Hill, CA

We should try to meet somewhere prtior to entry as they really want to park cars in order of arrival.

I'm not thrilled about that method, and contacted them directly, and here is their reply:

"The car clubs (Nor-Cal Council) hosting the event decided to not park classes together for this year's show.  The best advice I can give to you and the other fellow Pinto owners if you want to park together is to group together somewhere outside of the show area.  You could meet in the parking lot, or some nearby place.  Then, line up with each other as you enter the show...then you will be parked together.

I'm glad to hear that so many Pinto owners are attending the show and we should see if we can establish a Class.  I'm not sure if you have are in a club, but if so, then you are welcome to join the Nor Cal Ford Council.

Hey!
Ya, it is a bummer that they aren't parking in classes this year, then again its good because it forces people to actually walk around and see all the cars instead of just going straight for their favorites.

I was thinking, for the big show in LA every year we meet at Carrows in the morning for breakfast. What if we did that for the Vallejo show? I can check out which restaurants are nearby, since I'm only 20 mins away from Vallejo..
Let mw know what you think! We can parade in after that.

There is an Applebees of of Rt 80 not far from the fairgrounds, (Columbus Parkway exit from east or west 80), or we could even line up at the Marriot right there on Fairgrounds drive before the entrance to the show.

Here goes..my first post on here and hopefully my first car show? Seriously thinking about attending the Vallejo show,  coming in from Nevada. I just bought my "baby," its a 1977 hatchback, which is a work in progress. So I guess I am wondering if you all could stand one more crazed Pinto lover out there.?

ok, so I think I am registered.. I went through all the hoops, car info, personal stuff, even buying the shirt. At the end of it though, it shows that I am only being charged for the shirt? What about the entry fees? Any info would be great...
Paul...would enjoy driving down with your son, but hubby and I are leaving Reno on Saturday and staying overnight. If this is cool with him, let me know, and we can all head out together. Unfortunately, even though its a daily driver,  I am towing the car until I get there, she's not been proven long distance worthy yet.
Thanks for all the help...Andrea

Anyone care to set up a meeting place and time so our Pintos can park together? Preferably someplace very close by.

I'll be there with Sweetpea, and looking forward to parking among Pintos.

We can just meet in the parking lot outside of the gate around lets say, no later than 7:30am ( gates open for cars at 8am) The parking lot is empty at that time, at least it has been the past few years ( The lot is huuuuuuge, considering its the county fairgrounds.) It won't be hard to spot fellow pintos in the parking lot. We can arrange our cars in the order we want them to be parked and then drive into the show from there.

Sound good?
See you all there!!

Hey Cool Kats! The date is nearing so we need some  concrete plans. :police: Are we meeting before the show to secure a spot? Is Skunky going to do what he did last year and get is our nook? I will be there with Pinto Zeal again between 7:30 and 8:00.  Let me know the plans!

Leonard, why is  you car not working yet? Am I going to have to set up a NorCal meet at your house so that we can help you finish it NASCAR pit style?

OH! And I want to talk about a Christmas Party this year! We do one in SoCal every year but I'm new to this place and I want a Christmas Party!
I have many Pintos, I like them....

Okay! Sounds good. I'll probably be there a bit before 730. Same with Alberto.
We'll do our best to save you a spot Joe! It won't be any fun if us Pintos get split up :( Lets try to keep a couple spots open, just in case some people show up after... hopefully the people working the show won't be too insistent on filling in all the spaces. Hopefully we get grass this year too *crosses fingers*

I want to go to Carlisle, but financially its not going to happen. Which is a HUUUUGE bummer :( If someone can take videos, I'd be more than willing to put together a video.

See you all on sunday!

Berto, how many cars are you taking? Is Kristin driving one?
I'll see you on saturday! :)
