So, today I'm working on the Pangra doing a minor carb mod, get it done start it up go adjust things get back in the car to pull back into the garage, look over at the passenger side floor and see a mouse staring back up at me. OOUUUHHHH, its all on now. I hate mice. I chased the little bugger around the inside of the car but it eluded me. BUT... I have plans for him. Any one want to guess how long it takes me to catch him?
The trap below was installed at 3:00 California time. Guesses anyone ?
You will have it by 8:45 tonite!
5:45 if u dont go near the car till then
As much as I like animals.....
Connie had a mouse sitting on her dash just looking at her one morning. Glad it was in her Grand Am not the Pinto. We keep mouse baits all over, in both garages, the shed and the barn. We find nests that they only get the chance to start and it's amazing how many dead mice we find, but never inside the cars or bike. Most of them outside near the garage; I am told that after they eat the baits they get thursty and go in search of water. I like that because they don't spend enought time to urinate on everything and make it smell.
Good luck catching the little #%&!
Bill
Hey turbopinto72:
I think you need a bigger trap. ;D
77pintocw
LOL, classic........... ;D
Hey, is that one of those police 'bait cars'?

Hey 77pintocw,
You should have made a photo of the mouse taking a mega squirt on Brads MEGA SQUIRT F.I. box... Oh wait!!! That is the Green Pinto..
Anyway my guess if you used Peanut butter about 0-2 hrs...
From Pintony
Hey
Thats a California mouse...I would have baited it with Tofu.
I don't think your gonna catch him...I think his wife made him sleep in the Pinto cause she caught him in another nest.

Now that's funny! ;D
You'll catch him faster if you move the trap close to the edge rather than placing it in the center of the floor. Mice like to scurry along walls, etc. and seldom cross open spaces. You might also want to consider multiple traps. Good luck!!!
Dwayne
P.S. - If you can't catch it, maybe you could persuade it to move into a Vega instead!
Note to self, Put Rat Zapper in pinto Tomorrow.
Fabric softener sheets. Someone told me about this one time, and I thought they were full of it, but gave it a try regardless, and since doing so they have not been in my car once, and it sets most of the time, so they have more than ample oppurtunity to get in there.
put a cat in the car!!
Todays report : Mice 1-Traps 0................Might do the Tofu thing next or maybe more peanut butter. What's the deal with the fabric softener ? How does that work ?
It doesn't kill the little turd-heads, it just repels them. For some reason, they don't like the smell. I usually get the really cheap ones that are quite potent, stuff them under seats and up in dashes. If you choose carefully, it also helps your car smell better!!!
MAN...It could've been worse....you could have lifted your hood and found a RAT MOTOR!! :rolleye:
Had the same problem-I just put down a box of decon right where your mouse trap is, killed a whole family of them. Only problem with this method is that you better be looking for the bodies or soon enough you'll soon smell them!

Funny you say that... The engine compartment of your Pinto was full of rat droppings when I first bought it.

"I love the smell of hantavirus in the morning!" ...ahhh...no...maybe that was napalm....no wonder I like pintos!!!
OK, this is WAR !!!!. Now the mouse is mocking me. This morning I looked at the traps ( one in the car and one on the floor of the garage) and I see both traps licked clean. The trap on the garage floor is triped with no mouse and the one in the car is clean AND the Mouse left a little present for me. If you look at the picture you will see that the "Mouse ball" is actually made of the backing and floor insulation from the car...........................   . There is now two traps in the car with dubble stuff peanut butter on them and one was modified to trip at the very vibration of a mouse wisker..................
".......and I shall come down on Meeses with great anger and furious vengeance, and you will know my name is Turbopinto72" Ok, well Samuel L Jackson may have made it come out a little smoother, but you get the idea. Kill 'em all, man, kill 'em all......
TurboPinto72,
Ok....look...you have a rodent in you Pinto eating ant trails under your carpet....I had roaches in my ashtray and had to smoke them out.
I would dispence with conventional means and purge the Pinto with an inert gas. Argon would be best but you can get can of CO2 from the keg store...My god don't use helium. Tape up the door seals and gas that bugger.
Crack the valve to a wisp and leave it there for a week. That will kill everything in that Pinto...Mammal or insect without damaging the goods.

Roaches in the ashtray that takes me back, High School ....huummmmmm
I think I tried to smoke them out too....
FrankBoss
get a syringe and inject the bait with a couple of drops of antifreeze, if the trap don't get 'em the antifreeze will

well they dont call it "HIGH" school for nothing.
how about nitrous in the car then u could at least laugh about it.
I see you guys don't know how to catch mice! There to smart for traps, Here's what you do.
Get a 5 gal bucket fill it 1/2 full of water if there feet touch the bottom they'll jump out, now get some peanut butter, spread some peanut butter about 4" down from the inside lip of the bucket, just so the mouse has to stretch over the inside lip of the bucket to get the butter and they fall in they swim around then deep 6..
No dead bodies to stink up your car there all in the bucket! I catch a few every week in my shop in the bucket. Just make sure the butter is far enough that they can get a little taste and have to reach for the rest it gets them every time!
Put the bucket on the passenger side floor just in front of the seat but index the bucket so they have to reach don't make it easy, also when the first one hits the water he'll call all his little friends and they all go swimming! Till they get tired. :D

Excellent!!!
BOOMSHAKALAKA!
By the looks of it ...That is one of those Black African Amazon Hemp Mice. I'll bet it came over on the boat. Two Thumbs up!!!

If you want mice out of your garage, go to home depot (or any hardware store) and buy a plug in sonic mouse deterent. They work. They emit a sonic sound that disrupts the nervous system of rodents and some other small creatures (snakes, etc. a list is on the package) do not buy one if you have Gerbils or hamsters, for this would be cruel for the pet. I had mice in my garage, they are gone now. I manage a building in manhattan which had a massive rodent problem, I installed these all over the basement, they are gone now.
That is of course you want to hunt them, then keep doing what you are doing.

Actually I do want to hurt them  I went out to the car yesterday and noticed brown stuff on the back seat ( see pic 1 ), then looked up and saw the hole ( see pic 2 ), then set another trap and Bamm, got the sucker ( pic 3). But now I have a hole to contend with.......... I H8te mice..................... >:(
I have heard that critters do not like the smell of moth balls in the car.

That's what I'm hoping for.... put 2 boxes (some in and most outside) around my car for the winter. Unfortunately it's 150 miles away and I can't check on it... everytime I read this post it sends shivers up my spine.
CookieBoy,
You did it right...If there is anything alive in your Pinto hut when you go to get your car I will..........be surprised.
High_Horse
Nice dead mouse! I still would get the plug in sonic deterents, might keep the problem from happening again, especially after you fix the hole. So what are you gonna do with the body? Might I suggest impaling it on a stick in your driveway to alert other mice to their impending fate!
