is there a ford 5 speed trans that will fit behind a 2.0? i thought a later straight 6 mustang might have the same narrow bolt pattern. anyone try this?
There are lots of 5 speeds that will fit behind a 2.0 but none that are a direct bolt on. Please refer to out FAQ section and look at all the T5 information.
The 2.0's and the 2.3's have the same bolt pattern. The dowel pins are different so you will need 'stepped pins" to bolt up a 2.3 t5 to the 2.0. Also, there are different t5's for the 2.3. Just swapping the bells, llike putting a 2.3 bell on a v8 t5, won't work. If you don't want to re-build the t5, get one from a 2.3 to start with.
BTW: Welcome.

Actually, to clear that up. The 2.0 and 2.3 only share the bottom 4 bolts being the " same" there are two additional bolts at the top of the 2.3 belhousing that do not work with a 2.0 application/T5 swap. This is were some fabrication will come into play.
