Hey there, bran new to the group/ forum and I'm sure it's been asked before at some point but I need some help. I recently bought a 1980 wagon with a v6 and a five speed and when I bought it the starter was a little iffy, sometimes it would fire up sometimes the starter would spin but the little gear wouldn't kick out and spin my flywheel so I changed my starter but now it won't start, I got the power to the starter, I got a good battery, I changed the icm, the voltage regulator and the starter Solinoid but now when I turn my key the solonoid just goes *clunk* and has no effort past the Solinoid. any help will be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination just a guy with tools and a garage. Thanks for your input

Well I got er figured out, it was a crummy ground on my battery, I knew it had to be something simple but man I still feel dumb
Good preventive maintenance might be to get a batt terminal cleaning tool and battery terminal anti corrosion spray ( autozone)
Clean the terminals and inside of the cable connectors ti clean shing metal shows.
Then spray battery terminals and inside of the cable terminals.
Install the cables on the battery and liberally spray the terminals and around the terminals on the battery.
Also the anti corosion spray is useful to prvent corrosion and rust on other stuff in the engine compartment.
Yeah, Canada may be sweet but we get some pretty gnarly rust with all the salt and calcium they spread on the roads in the winter. Thanks for the tip!

All wagons were made from the same platform. Cruising wagons and the delivery wagons all have the window frames behind the side panels. There are lots of unique items that come on the cruising wagons but I am not sure all of the ones on the delivery wagons. And 77-78 are different than 79-80. I have read that the delivery vehicles do not come with a back seat. Also, the drip rail extensions are on all wagons that have the side panels installed from the factory. Most of the time, those items are not removed from the donor vehicle so that is one easy tell sign if the side panels are factory or not.
There's a drip rail that runs from the door all the way to the back hatch, is that the one you're referring to?

There is a little extension that wraps around the rear corner.

Yes, looks like you have them. They are about 3" long and are held in with a screw under the seam sealer. Lots of people take the side panels but forget to grab the extensions.
