Yes, it is that time again! Time to start talking about the next Stampede. This Stampede will be a little different, it will be a pilgrimage from all directions converging on the Pinto Holy Land.
Yes people we are going to Dearborn the home of Ford itself, and we are going in style!
Friday July 18th we will attend the very exclusive Ford Employee Car Show. This show is not for everyone and registration is limited to invites and the Stampede has been invited!
The likes of Jack Rousch, Bill Ford and other notable Ford icons attend this prestigious car show, this is a once in a lifetime event for Pinto owners.
With the Henry Ford museum and other attractions within walking distance, their is plenty to do and see. This is only the first post, more will come and other things will be posted to do on Saturday and Sunday, they are all ready in the works.
If you are seriously interested in coming on this trip, email the trail Boss, Norman Bagi at bosspinto@pintostampede.com and get on the mailing list.
See you on the road. ::)
I was invited to the show last year. It was really Cool! If there is any way for you to go, GO! I am planning a drive on the 17th from the midwest if anyone wants to join in let me know.
Norm
I just might tow up there sounds very cool ill be in touch
Brian
I am SO looking forward to this!!!
Dwayne ;D
Talked to Norm earlier this week, looks like I'll take a shot at this show this next summer. Hope to see some old friends there!
The bobcat will be there
I wish I still had a pinto.

I wish I still had a pinto.
I'm in the same boat and I think it's sinking!
When first reading about these Stampede meets, I wanted to go.
Still do.....but when I got taken to the cleaners on my engine build , it put me years behind.
Maybe one day / year.
That's a bummer, seems like it always boils down to the same thing, if you want it done right you gotta do it yourself.. :(
Sigh.... I'd like to go but not sure. Sort of confused about the end location. Where is it?
Checking calendar might be able to attend. Is there a hotel picked out?
Henery Ford Museum is very cool ,been the once. Kirk
I see some questions and will try to answer them. Hotels are not selected yet, we will reserve a block of rooms based on how many it will appear will be attending. This will give some room for changes but we have to have an idea before looking for good rate.
The end location on this one is also the starting location. Dearborn! We will start at the Ford Employee car show, I plan on having a drive (or stampede ) on Saturday and possibly another car show on Sunday. In between events will occur, the henry Ford museum, Rouge assembly plant, etc. Lots to do and see here I stopped in and checked it out on the way to the 2013 Stampede.
And NoForkin, bring that Pinto come hell or high water, jack Rousch is supposed to be there and you may be able to bring him over for a visit with that Dragster Pinto. I also would like to see that thing parked next to Racer Walsh for a full effect of Pinto performance on hand. So hopefully you both can make it.
Once again, just to be invited to this show is an honor and a privilege, especially given the Pinto's past press. Doors have been opened, lets make a good showing and represent. We have 19 so far signed on, with a total of 30 allowed right now. If interested please contact me at bosspinto@pintostampede.com
Email sent Norm. I'm excited about it!!! ;D
Latest information on the stampede events.
The Ford Product Development Truck and Car Show is July 18, 2014 at the Ford Product Development Center in Dearborn, directly across from Greenfield Village/Henry Ford Museum and the Ford test track.
There should be between 400 and 500 cars in attendance. You will be provided with a pre-printed owner card (with detailed information if owner provides it), laminated color calendar of each participant's vehicle (sent out several months after the event), goody bag which includes a window cling and dash plaque, as well as a raffle (~50 prizes; one entry per car) and a low-cost ($5) all-inclusive barbeque lunch. All but the lunch are provided free of charge. the event is located right across from the Village, so many out-of-town participants visit there after the show.
In general, they want a variety among the Pintos which are attending, but if someone is interested in attending, that should not be the limiting factor. Assume a maximum of 30 cars for now. We should have Phil's 1972 showing in their feature row of the Mustang story to introduce the Mustang II years describing how the Mustang II came out of the Pinto. For those who don't know how clean Phil's Pinto is, he should out show all the Mustangs. All other Pintos will be in their own area.
They are also looking for Mustang IIs. Please let me know if you know of any which still maintain stock appearance and if they would be interested in attending.
Thank you,
Norman Bagi

Truer words were never spoken! Phil's Pinto is about as close to perfect as they come.
As to the variety thing: my Pinto is a gold '72 Squire wagon with brown interior - all original.

You're right, Matt... I sold my brown sedan and acquired my current Pinto in early 2013. It's not perfect, but it's very nice. It was one-family-owned until I bought it and has a documented 67,000 miles! I may try to get to Carlisle with it in June... not sure yet. Am definitely planning to take it to Dearborn in July. Can't wait!!!

Yeah, I'm stoked about Dearborn since that is a trip I know I can make. Who knows, Carlisle may happen for me but not entirely sure yet. Dad & I still have to push the 80 to my house so we can drop in the engine from the 77.

That's about how far I am from Carlisle! I'm approximately 560 miles from Dearborn so probably 9 - 10 hours. I am going to trailer the Pinto due to the fact that my wife is coming with me and is concerned about its lack of air conditioning and how comfortable she'll be. She's in poor health and the trip will be difficult enough for her riding in a modern, air conditioned vehicle! She wants to come though, and I always encourage her to get out whenever she can. I am currently trailer shopping. Haven't towed anything in years (used to pull a travel trailer about 30 years ago) so thought Carlisle might make a good practice run for me before starting out to Dearborn. We'll see.
Dwayne :)
Hi all I sent Norm my letter of intention a few days ago.
If this old man can hold on, I would love to do 1 more

Dick I am very glad that you may be up for this trip.we need to get together and make our plans Hope to see you at the banquet on Sat. Scott please bring another Brief case we could have some fun with it.
Scott are you driving through Ohio on your way north. If so we can meetup somewhere along the way.
Postal, I got your email and you are on the list. It will be great to see you and the pony on the ride again. A reminder to everyone else to send me an email to get on the Stampede, posting here does not get you on the Stampede. I need an email sent to bosspinto@pintostampede.com in order to make it official otherwise it is just a post. All corespondance and updates are done via email. We will give dates and basic information here but actual hotel information, times, registration information etc is done via email to the actual Stampeders. Please don't miss out or lose a possible spot because you only left a note here.
I will be sending out hotel information early next week to all Stampede members. Hotel blocks are reserved and only a few spots remain.

From my house to Detroit is 781 miles, That's around 12 hours driving time one way(or so the map says) If the wife goes, That means I will have to have a half way stopping point. If my son goes, Then it's Hammer down. I have some repairs and improvements to make. (Yes, That includes the redneck AC.) BUT I WILL BE THERE!
Tommy looking forward to hanging out with you and your son or wife this July.
I have 27 confirmed attendees for the 2014 Stampede. 3 more are possibly coming. Out of the 27 confirmed Pintos many have more than one Pinto they want to bring for a possible 31 Pinto's not including the possible entries. We have 30 spots reserved. At this time I am trying to expand the amount of Pinto's that can attend, also we will have a pre-registration that must be done quickly, so if you want to come and have not signed up you may still get in if someone doesn't register for the Ford Employee car show during the pre-registration.
If you emailed me before this posting, you are in, but will still have to register with the Ford employee car show. I will notify you so don't worry. Also I will be sending out all hotel information to Stampeders this week. Other events are in the works and we will have a weekend full of events and fun so stay tuned and reserve that hotel room once I send out the information to you. Anyone who wants to try to get in last minute, please send me an email at bosspinto@pintostamede.com to grab one of the few spots remaining or to get on the waiting list.
I've made my hotel reservations. Now all I need is to get registered for the show. See you all soon!
Ladies and gentlemen, in the coming weeks we will be announcing the registration for the Ford Employee car show and also sending out the information on Saturday and Sunday's events. Many of you have all ready gotten the hotel information. Once you get the registration information, send it in and secure a spot!
Right now I have 37 Pinto's lined up and am working hard to get everyone in. If you didn't contact me it may all ready be too late. If you planned to come but cannot, please contact me so I can make room for late entries. if you want to get in do not wait any longer just in case we get some drop outs. I all ready have 7 on a short list and am working on getting the field expanded to accommodate everyone. This could be the biggest Pinto collection since the 2011 Carlisle Ford nationals.

See you in July!
2 stops for the Stampede on Saturday the 19th of July have just been added.
First we will visit the Rousch collection.
Oh wait, they are closed on Saturday's. :'(
However, they are making special arrangements to open just for us! ;D
Isn't that special! The fee will be $5.00 per person and we will get a private guided tour.
Second we plan on visiting the Model T museum, this has a $10.00 charge per person and is the actual birthplace of the Model T.
There will be more to come, but for now you can visit their the websites here.

Pre-Registration emails for the Ford Employee car show have been sent out.
Going to be some unique surprises and a grand entrance for us.
See you there.
RYSCAR is looking forward to once again being the Canadian component in another tremendous Stampede...and much closer to home this time.
Richard
norm i admire your tenacity and dedication to this undertaking. it's going to be good! (as they all are)
one of these days i'll be able to tag along
please don't forget to 'webcast' the whole thing.
No webcast this time around. The quality was poor and it cost too much. I will probably just film everything and then post highlights on youtube, the quality will be better as well. Stay tuned, I am working on a few more things for this one.
35 Pinto's are pre-registered so far out of the 40 we are allowed for the Ford employee car show. :o Two spots have been freed up! ::) Anyone wanting to get on board this thrill ride should email me asap at bosspinto@pintostampede.com 8) Still waiting on three spots being held, but two are confirmed open. ;)

Too bad it's so far away.. :( :(
I've been wanting so badly to participate in one of the stampedes, I finally get a "pinto" and now I can't afford to go, and the car wouldn't make it even if I could afford it :[
Ironically I'm only 2 hours from dearborn :[
poomwah,
You need to come to the car show as a viewer and join us anyway... :)
Love to meet you!
Gonna start working on the 80 to get her ready. As long as I can get her going I will be a happy camper.
If anyone's interested I'll have some paperwork for 74-76 Pinto's that I'm looking to unload. And some small parts I'd like to sell during the weekend. See you all soon!!
Right now we are a just over 5 weeks away. It is going to come up fast! We have 40 Pinto's registered through the Stampede and more owned by the Ford Employees coming (unknown amount) We have been granted extra room so anyone wishing to go, especially in the Detroit area can contact me at bosspinto@pintostampede.com
Can't wait Norm! If any one wants to Stampede from the west I will be leaving the Janesville WI / Rockford IL area on the morning of the 17th. We plan a stop at the Studebaker Museum in South Bend IN at about noon. Please contact me if you want to join in.
If any one is interested in camping on the Stampede your in luck. Four of us , including Cookieboy, a friend, Jim Madison and I will be camping at the Wayne County Fairgrounds about 16 miles from the hotel. They have showers and restrooms. Tent camping is $15 a night. R V sites. $27. They take reservations with a one nights deposit.
I really gotta get my butt in gear if I'm gonna have that car on the road in time for the stampede. Hard to drive it with only half an engine & partially burned wiring harness.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Wow! What a great event this was! Thanks so much Norm!!!!!
The Pintos really overshadowed the 50th anniversary of the Mustang at the Ford Product and Development Show in Dearborn. The Stampede made the front page of the Detroit Free Press... no mention of the Mustangs.
Hats off to Cary and family from Kalamazoo who helped any Pinto that needed attention during the weekend. Amazing master mechanic!!!!!!
Will have some great memories from this event.

What a GREAT time last week. Hats off to Norm and Wezzie on a job well done on this stampede. The hotel was nice, the front counter people went out of their way to help. The weather was fantastic, and what a huge turn out of Pintos. I just want to say THANKS to all the folks who helped out the wounded ponies (Cary, a special Thanks) you all pulled together. Again, I had a great time and my buddy Mike passes along his best wishes to all.
Gads! If you haven't been and wondering if it's worth it!?!?
Holy Cookie Batman! what fun these events are! ;D
Thanks Norm and Louise! for all you have done and continue to do. I know the plan was for one only... and then a few of us pushed for the rides to continue. Looking back I'm glad we did, nothing better then the person to person connect you get when participating on one of these.
