does the rear shocks of a runabout fit the wagon? OK i got my shocks but i don't
have any idea no how that go on

Nope. Sorry but the wagon has specific shocks. For example the Monroe Sensa-trac has a #5819 for the sedan/runabout and a Wagon has a #5826. Looked a Kragen for that info.

Ummm yah, as i said, Kragen has them through Monroe and the part # is 5826 for the sensatrac. As far as selection there isnt much. There might me others but thats all i know about.

Kragen Shucks Checker( same company different areas) all carry the Monroe Sensatrac gas shocks for the wagons, they are the only source i have found with these shocks. think they were 29.99 each shock.

I say this "at your own risk," but I am running sedan shocks on my wagon (1973 if it matters). On the top I used as many shock washers (2 or 3) as one can manage on the shock side and still tighten the nut. I then used a spacer of about 3/4" on the threaded shaft at the bottom (on the shock side as well). Again, that was all I could add and still tighten the nut.

What this effectively did was compensate for 1" the 1-1/2" of length missing from the sedan shock. I've had them in this configuration for a number of months now and have not had any issues of bottoming out or hyperextention. If I recall correctly in my testing it wasn't compression, but extension that was the issue. Since I'm not too incline to "fly" like the General Lee I'm not too worried about the missing 1/2" on extention.

Keep in mind that part # is for Wagons thru 1974; '75 and up is a different part. rockauto.com has them for about $17.50 looks like the front shocks are the same for Sed., HB and wagon all years. rockauto also has AC Delco, Sachs and KYB for some apps. No, I'm not spamming for rockauto ;D

5826 is the same number they gave me for my 75 wagon and they fit perfectly.
