I wish it were me, because then I would be out in California & I would not be working on replacing the driver door hinge that I broke last year on my Pinto when I tried to pull the car up the driveway with the door wide open.

Cool, though "Watt Ave. near the golf course" means nothing to about 99.5% of the folks here. Not being mean, I just have no idea where you are talking about without looking at your profile.

Kim , Chris..
I've enjoyed the use of the Profile and Google Map to explore the geographics of our Pinto universe. OF course some people (for privacy ) don't put the member map pin in the actual street that they live on ::). And yes ,it's easy to regionalize your presence when you are not traveled across the nation in a big way. I just looked at Texas the other day and Whoa! Lots of pinto owners in the DFW area. Yet no pins for Nevada on the map?

I'm still trying to see a Pinto in a Google earth image but it's elusive.

Thanks Kim! Sacramento is a lovely area - I used to train for work from time to time out in Buena Park, and would take weekend trips up to the mountains, driving through Sacramento on the way. Back then I was into model railroading BIG time, so I stopped in Sacramento at the Railroad Museum there, then made my way up through Donner? pass (heading northeast from Sacramento) to the Feather River historical society/rail museum way up in the mountains!! It was BEAUTIFUL up there!!

Chris

PS - Pintosopher - my pin is placed NEAR where I live, but not exactly. I'm sure a lot of folks do the same for at least >some< privacy.

Chris,
Guilty as charged on the pin issue. I'm really sure that my Cell phone is causing Sheriff & CHP helicopters to fly directly over my house. >:( ;D I know they followed me with My (then) street legal Pinto in the Napa Valley in the late 80's. Plug checks at 6500rpm and 100mph  in the vineyard backroads tended to get their attention.  Oh, the good old days...

The Pinto has nothing to do with the Feds monitoring your residence. It's all the "anti-establishment" messages that you post here that are causing them to stir. My goodness, didn't you know that only sites condired "outside the normal sphere of everyday life" are carefully monitored?

...... ;)......

And just a tip - be sure you don't use the "TER..." word, or the "OB..." name, or even Charles Manson in future posts. Oh, never mind, I think that you are safe with the Manson thing after all these years.....he was so '70's.... :hypno:

I'm still trying to see a Pinto in a Google earth image but it's elusive.

Wish granted:
:search: "3rd ave and district st, tucson, az"

Zoom into the intersection, and next to the third house on the left on the north side of the street, there is an orange hatch.  If you look really close, there is also a baby blue wagon in the back yard of the same house in the NW corner of the lot.  That would be my first car (the orange 79) and the 77 wagon I will be performing a cruisin' wagon alteration to (thanks again Bill for the panels and all necessary little items)  :)  Google Earth seems to have pretty old satellite data, as that pic is at least 4 years old.
The Pinto I had I gave to my brother. The car was originally my mom's, (78 red Pinto sedan with a 2.3 and a 4spd.) I am originally from Tucson, AZ but moved to Oxnard CA :D
I'm looking for a Pinto wagon with an automatic.
