Replacement ball joint boots
« on: February 13, 2010, 02:02:08 PM »
Suspension.com sells replacement ball joint boots, part # 13009 & 13024.
I cut the original boots at the base with a single edge blade.
The boots were shot, my ball joints are still good.

If you are still on your stock ball joints, you will have to replace them. I had the same problem with my passenger's side ball joint and I ended up having to replace it. I opted to change them all out.

The reason being, they are riveted into place from the factory. Once you cut the rivets, there is virtually no way to put the back on. I suppose you COULD drill out the remaining rivets and use bolts, but why not just replace them all at once?

I ordered some ball joint boots from suspension.com in Modesto California today.
I will report again after I receive and install the boots with the correct part #'s.
Does Mustang II use the same A-arms and ball joints as Pintos?

Thanks, Jerry
