Goodbye Pinto
« on: January 19, 2009, 11:19:24 PM »
I'm sad to say that I'm giving my father back my '79 Pinto. I'll miss you Jackie!

Because of the baby and all I had to get a new car, a '95 Ford Contour is my new ride. It's just much safer for my daughter (and it has A/C!!)

But, while she's in the care of my father, she'll be rebuilt and repainted with some body work so she'll be well taken care of! It's about time since she's been running basically non-stop since being manufactured. She's due for a rebuild. I'll have her again one day hopefully in the not too distant future! So for now, goodbye my bahama blue wonder!
Until recently, I drove a '79 Bahama Blue 2.3 Automatic Hatch.

You traded your Pinto for a (ack ack ack) contour??!!  :reek: One of the top 10 worst cars built by fomoco! At work we lovingly call them condoms & mistakes (contour/mystique). Oh well, when it croaks the beloved Pinto will still be going strong!!  ;D
If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

At least you are able to give the car away to someone else that you know won't trash the heck out of it, and you will always have the chance/ability to get it back when you can afford to!

Keep your chin up, things are still great! :)

Haha that is too funny. It's not that bad of a car!

I always tell my father that it's funny that one of the worst cars ever made (the Pinto) has been running straight for 30 years but a newer car isn't built to last past it's warranty? I will have my Pinto forever, no matter how many times it has to be rebuilt or fixed. It's my first car and sure, she's a bitch, but it's lasted me for two years so far!

Its so true, new cars are not built to last,Plus a new car got so much plastic,is that good for the enviroment? Not! Machines bassically run forever if taken care of.Computers do not.Just like almost anything else these days, fancy, shmancy, disposibles.
