AAA Broadway Auto Parts / Phoenix AZ

Just saw a commercial on TV here in Phoenix, for this auto parts place.
They carry new, used and aftermarket parts; they ship anywhere.
They have a link to do an inventory search. Looks like they also have a Facebook page.

Our 1978 Pinto still hesitates a bit when driving, but with this triple digit heat here in Phoenix area we're really not driving it much.  When cooler weather comes this fall we'll get it in to mechanic to trouble shoot.  We were told a few months back by several people to have the ignition module replaced.  Hopefully that's all it is.

Thanks for the tip about that auto dismantling yard! I will check it out!

As for your car’s hesitation issue, may I ask if you have AC or not before I make a suggestion?

No, it does not have AC. I started a thread months ago (back in December January) time frame, regarding this hesitation problem, but it's pretty buried by now. I'll look for it. At any rate, a couple people on this forum back then suggested the ignition module, and then 3 different mechanics here in Phoenix area confirmed that's where they would start as well. Since those conversations, Life has gotten in the way of wrestling this problem to the ground once and for all. But it will get revisited eventually!

Thanks for the thread! Mine appears to be related to the IAC (idle air control) valve on the carb. It was either dirty or stuck so whenever I turned the factory AC on, it would stall or hesitate. I had to turn the idle up to keep that from happening, but it created another problem as it would lurch when shifting to drive or reverse. A safety issue, exactly!

I ordered a new one and it should arrive next week…fingers crossed!
