Two types of early grill +74-75 grill
« on: February 17, 2008, 11:00:20 PM »
Hello Group,
I discovered tonight that there are two early types of Pinto grill.
I have never heard of this being mentioned so I guess it is a NEW discovery...??
Anyway the first grill is made much thinner and the second is a bit heavy-er and has ribs every 2 3/4 inches.
Kind of a cool little tid bit I thought??

I wonder if they revised it due to structural integrity?

Here is the 74-75 grill

As you can see the difference is the center grill mounting area. Also the 74-75 grill sticks out farther to accommodate the inside hood release.
BUT this is hard to determine on an ebay auction.
Look for the grill center mount in ebay photos to make sure you are bidding on the correct grill.

More Pinto grill differences.
The 1971-73 top bar of the grill has a recessed area "TOP" and the 74-75 grill does NOT.
