Holley 350 cfm restrictor kit
« on: October 15, 2012, 05:36:21 PM »
Currently I have a 2100 Motorcraft that is toast I rebuilt it and it runs but noticed after rebuilding it a vacuum leak coming from the throttle shaft output and there is lots of play in the shaft, latter found out that this is a common issue from wear and tear and requires a whole new carb.

I was given a 2150 off of a 318 and found it to run to rich and not idle so I removed the power valve and used a #16 power valve off the 2100 and it solved the issue but still not running right I noticed that it has external vacuum running off the power valve cover ? should I connect this to my manifold tee but theres gas running though there? is gas suppose to run under the power valve or should it be dry

Or should I just buy a Holley 350 cfm and order a restrictor kit and right sized PV and aluminum or rubber spacer

also what is the PV restrictor do? its sold from racer walsh and involves using a tap and drill bit? where exactly does it go and is it hard pricesion work? Will my car overheat with a Holley and is it fine for a standard transmission

I believe it leans out the mixture at an idle so you dont load up.  I installed one in my 500cfm.  It was pretty easy.  Just make sure you drill straight.  While i am still a little rich at an idle, it is much better than it was before.
