Front Grill on a 79-80 Question
« on: September 24, 2006, 04:06:37 PM »
i have seen both chrome and black front grill setups on 1979 and 1980 pintos, what came from the factory? were the grills chrome plated and then peeled over time to reveal the black plastic? or have they always been black? was chrome an option? or a modification?

just wondering.

Chrome was an option. The more basic bargain Pintos had black grills.

I had/have a 1980 Cruising Wagon and it had a black Grill and head light doors, but someone I know also has a 79 Cruising wagon and it has a Grey Grill and headlight doors. My newest Deluxe Wagon has a Chrome Grill. I'll post a link here and it has both of my wagons in it. The Cruising wagon saw just too many winters here in Northeast Ohio where the use SALT in the winter and it killed the car. I owned it for 10 years and never drove it in the winter but the Original owner did.  :'( So it got scrapped Memorial Day weekend. it was memory for sure  :( I saved everythig so my Maroon wagon will be a Cruiser in a couple of years.  :D
