Flywheel ring gear
« on: July 19, 2006, 11:40:54 PM »
OK, went to the local parts store, NAPA and they had the ring gear in stock for a 71 2.0, I'm doing a swap from a 2.3 auto to a 2.0 manual. I pick up the ring gear only to find out it's about a 1/16 to big all the way around. Next day I go back ant tell them it's the wrong one, I have the original and the only one that is the same diamater has 132 teeth and mine has 135 teeth, and nothing in the books to match my ring gear so I flop it to the good side to match my starter.
All I'm asking has anyone else ever had this problem.
BTW, I got my new clutch installed, tomorrow the tranny and the engine swap hopefuffy this weekend. It will be nice to hae some power again ;D
I do what the voices in my Pinto tell me to do
