dyerjg THUMBS DOWN!!!!
« on: July 16, 2009, 11:18:00 PM »
This is to let you all know the story.

John sent me five e-mails, telling me it was 'love at first sight', proceeded to talk me down $400 from my asking price before he had seen the car. He basically accused me of lying about the mileage on the car because I don't have every little scrap of paper ever written about the car. The five years the car sat without moving was his selling point. He thought he was going to come all this way from Oklahoma to talk me down to $300-400 on a car that was agreed at $1600. I offered to lower the price another $200 after he looked at it. No Sale. He promised to write up the car as satisfactory as soon as he got home to help me in finding a buyer. Never done!

Well John, here's to you, buddy!!! :cheesy_n: :cheesy_n: :cheesy_n: :cheesy_n: :cheesy_n:

Honestly, the reserve on e-bay is even lower than the $1400 I was willing to take. I just want a car that I can drive. It bugs me to walk past her and not be able to get her out of the yard. :'( I don't really want to part with her, but I have to.

I'm just upset that he led me on that it was a sure thing (if there is such a thing) only to show up and insult me. I did make other plans based on his words. I had to pass up an auto Pinto wagon in my neighborhood. To a person with mental and emotional problems, it's like a baseball bat to the left temple. I try to be a nice guy. I just want any of you guys selling a Pinto to know what he's about!

P.S. I went so far as to refer him to a 74 Pinto in Rio Rancho (about 10 miles from my house) that was for sale on craigslist for $750. That car is the same color, body style and mechanics as mine. I tried to be nice. I see him check in every now and then. I hope he reads this and knows that I'm HURT and a little ticked off. :'( >:(

You certainly deserve better treatment than that!  I wish I had the extra $$$ to take it off your hands but just can't do it at the moment.  Best of luck finding a legitimate buyer!  Take care!

I know where you're coming from Chuck, don't take it to heart buddy. I've dealt with that type, they just have to have what you're selling, then they do a 180 and start with the trash talk to make you feel bad about trying to unload a POS for the asking price. Well, everyone on this board knows the time, effort and attention to detail that you put into your car. That's why we all jumped in and offered to change your car to an automatic, P/S ect. so you could keep it. To anyone interested in the car, just have them read the pages and pages of the work you put into her in your "motivation" topic! Your car is a good solid driver and well worth the asking price. I hope someone gets it who will appreciate what they are getting.
And to dyerjg, thats just plain damn mean. >:(
If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?
