Sleepy eye headlights and a little tuning and she drives like a champ!
(http://i1123.photobucket.com/albums/l558/Qwerser/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140615_183302.jpg) (http://s1123.photobucket.com/user/Qwerser/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140615_183302.jpg.html)

Now for  bad.
I deleted the egr plate which also had the crank case ventilator hose port. Without thinking, I plugged the vent with a little nipple like deal thinking the pcv was enough vent for any blow by. By the way a lot of blow by comes out of the two and fills the engine bay when before they just went into my air cleaner. I don't know if it's always been like this because before the gases would just be burnt off again.

Anyways I now suspect my large oil leak is due this. The leak is coming from the rear main seal I believe. I can see a stream from between the bell and pan. Weather the build up of pressure caused this or not, I think I'll have to go ahead and replace the seal.

Any questions on manual steering conversion, idf tuning and fitment, headlight sleepiness, oil cooler fitment, steering wheel installation lowering, what not to do when you see a deer or anything else, I've now done it and I'm willing to share.

Here's my newest plan: I started removing the oil pan just now, before she told me to hurry up and get inside, because maybe, just maybe, it's not the rear main seal. I dusted for fingerprints and noticed the side of the dust shield facing the rear was not wet, but instead the side facing the front was. I got to thinking maybe I'm lucky and it's the pan gasket. That's my hunch. Only way to tell is to clean the pan up real good and the surface of the block, install the new four piece gasket, pour in some new oil and pray I don't have to drain it all out again.

If it still leaks, would it be possible to drop the pan again and only replace the bottom main seal instead of removing the trans and doing both? What if it's only the bottom one leaking? I believe you can remove that shaft follower by the two bolts and easily get the bottom half the two piece seal right?

Fix the PCV sytem, the seal may well quit leaking. If you've blown a pan gasket that will not fix itself. The rubber main seal may though. Seen it before........ ..
