Water leak through floor vent
« on: November 01, 2014, 08:08:13 PM »
I'm getting water after rains & car washes coming in through the floor vent on my Pinto on the passenger side only. Anyone know what is causing this and how to correct it?

There is no "floor" vent on a Ford Pinto. Are you talking about the vent on both side of the cowl?

Maybe the inside of your cowl, below the windshield and under the air intake has rusted through, allowing water to enter.

It rained on my Pinto for the first time since I got it (in April!  :o ) and there is some water coming in on the driver side floor. It looks like it's running down the kick panel and onto the solid vinyl part of the carpeting under the pedals. My first guess was leaky windshield weatherstippin g.

My 73 Pinto was leaking on the right side onto the floor board.  When the fender was taken off we could see there was a leak in the inner fender panel.  Hope this helps.
