1972 Pinto Sprint
« on: September 14, 2006, 02:12:39 AM »
Hi,
I'm currently working on acquiring a 1972 Pinto Sprint from a local salvage yard. I'm wondering what people think about it and if they have any advice on where I can find parts to restore this car as it needs a lot of pieces to get it back together.

I've attached a couple of pics and the rest of the pics (and the full size versions of these) are in the gallery on the message board menu.

Later,
Joe

Joe,

Bold project but big gold kudos for making the effort to save it.  I have a cherry front bumper with the rubber strip I will donate if you want it.

My new answering machine message:
"I am not available right now, but thank you for caring enough to call.
I am making some changes in my life.  Please leave a message after the beep.
If I do not return your call, you are one of the changes."

Thanks, I'll let you know once I get the car but donations are always accepted, LOL. Especially since I'm going to have to shell out some serious $$ to get the correct cloth for the middle of the seats... I'm lucky that the Mustang came with the same cloth or I'd probably never have found it. Now if someone wants to donate a 2.0 I'd be set... LOL.

Waiting to hear back from DMV on a title history search while the yard searches for the title. They're not sure where it is because they've had the car since 1986.

Joe

Ahhh Yes...Definitl ey a great find! It`s a good thing you`re not in the People`s Republic of California...i f it`s in a salvage yard it`s destined to be crushed...the car look`s to be in savable shape...if you have the time and patience you can turn it into a real head-turner...chance`s are you can find everything you need on this site
Good Luck and Welcome to the herd! :welcome:
Rex
A bad day workin` on my Pinto is better than a good day at work!

No, it was a one year only decor package to commemorate the 1972 LA Olympics. The cars had special paint and interiors and the package was offered on Mustangs, Mavericks and Pintos.
