Title: T-5 to 2.8V6 - Anyone done it?!?
Post by: wagonmaster on January 11, 2004, 06:47:19 PM
Has anyone adapted a T-5 to the 2.8 V6 in their Pinto? I'm going to do this, but if anyone has already done it, their thoughts on the swap would be much appreciated!

Chris,

Pics might be very helpful. Do you know what clutch cable was used? Thanks.

The trouble i have come to find with my particular transmission/clutch situation is that it is hydraluic and ive had to about make everything for the system, or make somthin work. Going to a hydraluic set up isnt impossibly hard, but probably not nessicary for you. :-\  I will try to get some pics for you however. DO you have the t-5 already or are you looking? let me know what all is goin down and ill do my best to help you out.

Thanks Chris!
I currently have a bellhousing from a Mustang II that I will modify as necessary to get it to work with the stock Pinto clutch cable. I do have a T-5. It is from a Fox body Mustang with a 4 cyl. If I have to end up using a V8 T-5, I will get one of those, but I think the ratios in the 4 cyl version would work better for the V6 on the street.

I have a lot of other things to do on the car first, but when I have the time, I have an extra engine I can use for mockup.
