super coup 76 is my new project
« on: September 03, 2016, 01:35:18 AM »
About 2 months ago i got a nice non running 76 trunk style, ever since i have  trying to deside what to do (i have really tried to leave it stock But)
Then i found this 89 cougar and since mine has no engine or trans. it was somebody's v8 project that never was i needed a engine - . The cougar runs good but the body is shot- the car i a 3.8 v6 and i have a lot of the parts to make it a super coup( the super charger and t5 trans ) well you can guess the rest.( been layed up for 2 months waiting for my leg to heal so now as soon as my prostitic is ready i can get to work) . and am i ready this wheelchair feels like a prison cell. more as it goes on. you do know the normally aspirated 3.8 V6 and the supercharged 3.8 V6 are a lot different right? the normally aspirated short block and heads will not hold up to the supercharger before you start this project spend some time on TCCOA

If your 76 pinto had a 2.3l in it and you are going to put in a different motor, I would be interested in the frame motor mounts.
Good luck on your project.

Another thing is the oil pan, the electronics (computer, etc.) and more. I have a post started on the very same subject, only mine is a Cruzing Wagon. For the oil pan I was thinking of going dry sump. However, there are still many other challenges. Look forward to your progress.

Oh, heal well and heal soon.
