Thought i would update this after above post from 13 yrs ago. I didn't really get going until April 2016 when i finally was able to load it up and move it to a garage in OKC. it had moved once from 2005 and sat another 12 yrs in a field. As i got it to my garage about to unload a passerby saw the car and asked if it was a Vega lol i was like no Pinto he said cool dont see them often and went on his way. after i got into the garage.

I got the front fender off and started on the driver's front end. came apart with hardly any problems for sitting for 27years until the lower control arm bolt after cut part bolt off still couldn't get it out. I finally able to split the inner bushing sleeve some and get vise grips on it it broke free

Cleand up and primed the bracket for the brake cooling box
Also took out the battery tray needs some work. I dont have a mig welder yet

I took out the radiator and the thermostat housing out was very rusted on in the tube but ok on the engine side. Was some sludge just inside the motor will get it dipped at a later date. Look at that 27 yr old radiator fluid still green lol.

Was checking out some rust on passenger side between door and rear wheel. Found bondo and who ever did the work sucks. They put 1/2 thick layer of bondo even a small part was still wet from 27 yrs ago lol.
Also removed the carburetor

Put some Dupli color truck bed liner on wheel well fire wall. Put on 3 coats on. Also tried putting in coil spring isolator to make sure it fits and it fits perfectly.

Looks like you are making some good progress.  Your car reminds me of my cruising wagon.  Floor pans and all...LOL.  Make sure you re-seam seal the cowl panel under the fender before you put it on.  The part where the cowl meets the kick panel side.  My car leaked down the kick panels on both side due to the seam sealer cracking / falling off.  Keep up the good work!

Painted transmission mount
Took bell housing off the transmission to clean up

Got the lower control arm painted.

Also put some undercoating on the driver's fender

Thats it for now need to get on the ball and put the driver's side suspension back together. Then I can start on passenger side.

After a lengthy delay..., you are making steady progress. Nice work too. In 2000 I started working on my Sunbeam Tiger. I dealt with the floor rust and lower body panels. I got that all painted, the suspension and rear end rebuilt and then in 2004 I hit a wall.  Keep posting, I need the inspiration.
