THE OTHER TURBO MOTOR
« on: September 10, 2015, 05:56:02 PM »
Hi to all pinto freaks,
so I picked up a 73 pinto trunk model and started with the 302 , c4 , 8.8 ,,bla bla bla..then I said why, there are so many of them and how different is it going to be. So I went back to my roots and thought of doing something different .....What I came up with and is in the works is a 3.8 turbo grand national motor that I got for $600 ,motor with 47,000 miles, turbo, wire harness, computer , everything that is needed to make the motor run. Trans is a 700r ,the car will be 4 link backhalf ,8 point cage,9 inch mini tub and all the stuff to go with it. I figure I should get 20+mpg,drive it anywhere , go to the track and run high 10's all day and drive it home, go to any show and have everyone say what  am I looking , it's different and cool...... let me know your thoughts....

Interesting.
Have you done any measurements or clearance type checking yet?
Is the Buick oil pan a front or rear sump?

yes I have checked some things , the 3.8 is a rear sump but I am prepaired to do what it takes to fit it in ,I have several ideas , I'm not afraid to cut or modify what ever is needed,
