« on: April 17, 2017, 06:38:26 PM »

Anybody out there know the best glue or tack to use with a neoprene vc gasket for a 79 wagon with 2300?

If its a blue Felpro, no glue is necessary. The gasket is a life time rated one.
Its better to be a has-been, than a never was.

It isn't- its a thick black Mahle-I was told by the one parts guy I should use Permatex Ultra Black & another guy wanted to sell me RTV- This is my 1st use of non-cork & its a 1 piece - if you know the engine it has that arch in the front for the timing belt so i'm having trouble keeping it in place-so any help appreciated ;)

Most of the rubber valve cover gaskets that I recall (similar to the 2.3 engine) typically call for a sealant at the front, inner corners where it sweeps upward over the arch. In the past I have always used RTV. Love to buy the smaller tubes at the 99 Cent only stores so I don't wind up throwing 80% of it away when it eventually hardens in the larger tube.
