71 sedan rear end off center
« on: May 02, 2013, 11:44:39 PM »
Putting wide wheels on the back of my 71 sedan and found that the rear end is offset towards the driver side . Measured from backing plate to springs and axle is centered on the springs .it appears that spring mounts are offset on the body .with a bare wheel bolted to the axle and a straight edge across the wheel. measuring to the outer finder lip it is 1 inch offset to the driver side .has anyone had this problem if so any help will b greatly appreciated

accident damage sometime in the past? you should get the same measurements (or very close to it) on both sides.
the only substitute for cubic inches is BOOST!!!
