Title: My New Find.. 73 Wagon..
Post by: C. M. Wolf on September 02, 2015, 11:28:08 PM
Well, since the local Police Dept has signed off on verification of the car(I have to do a 'Bond for Title', as the last owner didn't sign off the Title when he sold it back in 1997), and I can now correctly transfer the Title into my name as the legal owner..

I thought I'd try to post some pics of it(sort of a set of "Before Pics").. and then simply update with other pics as the work progresses..

Looks like a good starting point for a project.  Congratulation s on getting the title straightened out - that can be a total nightmare!

It looks complete, and a worthy project , the only thing I see out of place is the drivers seat reclining adaptor , I do not think is was a factory option  :o, glad you found it and look forward to seeing it looking better than new in the future ,  ;D

I humbly thank everyone for your kind replies.. ;)

I think she's got some potential also.. I plan on driving it around while I do some of the work on 'er.. yup, it runs too.. & the trans seems still strong.. I do need to overhaul the brake system 1st, I have to be able to trust 'em. This'll give me a chance to hunt down the right parts like a good 6 cyl.-2.8 engine, stronger torque-converter, suspension parts, rims & tires, front air-dam, panels for the back windows, the many interior parts/carpets/upholstery, & etc.

Then once I get some of those parts gathered, I'll start working through the various systems to bring 'em back to great shape or better again.. And then finally get the body work & paint on her.

;)

Hahaha.. ..you noticed that too, huh? lol :D I just can't think of many applications for a chunk of 2"x 4" in a car either.. lmao.. I just chalk that sort of thing up to the area I now live in.. "DogPatch USA"(it's obvious by those pieces of wood under the front seat that my 'Fellow Montanans' too often choose to live out a sunday comic strip rather than doing things right).. lmao..

I thank God there's not too many around here that pretend to be mechanically inclined.. I'd have drawn a "no-sale-line" at some kind of sprinkler-pipe-headers that might have been J-B Welded in place!
