A little over 3 years ago, I found the Pinto that I have always wanted on ebay. We bid and won, drove from Joplin, MO to Philadelphia to get it and trailered it back. It was purchased for me to drive on weekends and my oldest daughter to drive to and from school in. It has been a project since, everytime I think I have it road ready again, something else has went wrong. My wife and I have 7 children, so working on it has been slim to none. About 2 months ago, my brother in law offered to look at it for me, he took it apart and determined it needed a cylinder head, and after talking with a few great people from here, I decided to change the engine to a 2.3.
Somehow, I found a 77 wagon for sale localy that was complete and for a really good price. It was purchased for the intent to use the engine in our 73. We have now had the 77 for about a month and I just dont have the heart to take it apart. It does need some work, it leaks oil out of the rear main seal, about 4 quarts a day.
We now have 2 squire wagons and both of them are down, why is it that I love these cars? Lol.
