update on my turbo pinto
« on: April 08, 2011, 07:07:17 PM »

got my intercooler and blow off valve along with my center counsel complete and my dash looking better. up to 18 psi and it runs great. next step is a new turbo. I think my seals are going out. it smokes and there is constantly oil in the turbo inlet and the vacume system. anyone have advice to find out if this is where the oil is coming from? it could be valve seals or rings since the motor has 130 on it

Make sure your PCV valve is not sticking open or just disconnect it and see if the oil issue stops.

What size oil line are you running " to " the turbo and what size line is the dump line ? Sometimes you can over oli the turbo and it will leak past the seal and sometimes if you done have a large enough Dia dump tube it will back up the oil and leak past the seal.

the oil lines are sock so the drain tube is significantly bigger and i don't think it's the PCV i drove it with the original one and it smoked and i put a brand new replacement motocraft one and it is still smoking. I'll try new valve seals (worth a try for 20$ counting the tool) and report back
