Front end swap

Why does a 71-73  fenders and hood not fit on a 74 -80 body? Can it be worked to make it fit? Have great deal on a 72 front end.

I thought they did fit, but you might need to adapt or change the radiator support?

 :o oh ok...good thanks.. I had heard that 2nd gen was little wider and longer up front...  ???
