Carpet for a 73 wagon
« on: April 05, 2015, 11:16:03 AM »
Does anyone know if the carpet for a hatch or trunk model will fit a wagon?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/71-73-FORD-PINTO-CARPET-80-20-LOOP-TRIM-PARTS-USA-53497-/191274272407?fits=Year%3A1973|Model%3APinto&hash=item2c88d5c697&vxp=mtr

That looks pretty sharp, so hopefully it will fit!

Doesn't look like anyone does one for the cargo area?

This one looks better, or has better pictures of the loops:

That second one is pretty spiffy. There's some cheap unshaped, non-looped , generic carpet in mine. Which is fine until I get all the window/seam leaks fixed. If you do your own install, a steam gun and rubber mallets help to shape it well in to recessed areas. Are you going to dynomat it first?

Yes, already have the dynomat and all rubber, so pretty much ready to slap it back together when I get it back someday from the paint shop.

The one that was in there wasn't the loop. The loop, as I read, came in cars and truck up to 1973. The 72 Ranger F100 had them also. Will replace those after I get it painted :)

Thanks, I'm going for the extra 10 bucks. Is that good then? I can use it in my wagon?

Do you know anywhere that sells one for the cargo area? A sewn mat? I guess I could pay for one to be made around here.

Thanks!

I'm not certain about your compatibility issue. But on the cargo area, if it's just a flat plane, or flat-ish, you can get some matching material, cut it to fit and have the edges bound at a carpet store.

Yeah, probably what I'll have to do. I want it matching since I am putting so much in this thing! LOL

Sheesh, almost there and even the motor and header with new trans and wiring harness are ready to be dropped in and the new 8" rear. It's killing me waiting LOL

That's basically where I'm at with my turbo swap. I'm just not up to doing it yet. Only able to work for an hour or two at a time. Sometimes I just sit and stare at all the parts and put it together in my head. I drive this car around, so I need the swap to happen when I can keep up a good pace for a week or two. It's hard on the nerves, having most everything together, just sitting there.

Yeah, I'm waiting on the paint shop right now looking at the motor, trans, new a/c unit, and even new wiring harness and ECM module to go in. I don't even know if the drive line will have to be modified yet. When the shop doesn't have work, which isn't a lot now, the guys work on my personal stuff and they're as ready to get that car done as much as me LOL

I want to show it real bad :(
