I have a 72 wagon.  Prepping for paint.  Last paint job horrible.  The Pinto Badges and nameplates are all loose.  How are they held on??  (I was thinking of silicone adhesive?) jt

They use barrel nuts. I will check the size I ordered and post.

Alright, so I didn't order them, I bought them in town at a local auto paint and supply shop.

What they carry is called a "Wee Pak" and carries a small quantity of a type of fastener, in this case barrel nuts. The Wee Pak stock number is 99-876 and the description on the package is "Tubular clip 1/8" Stud Ford & Chrysler". It has worked perfect for my emblems and they are nice an tight now!

It looks like ebay carries them, not sure of the brand but I don't think it will matter.

that is the factory correct option. However clear silicone works too, I use it and I do have a package of the nuts. Nuts chip paint and give a spot to rust (a friend pointed this out to me) and while not a big deal it was a consideration and why I use silicone. cover the post well, use some on the back side of the emblem, put it on, use painters tape to hold in place/setup and good to go. Both options work, up to the individual which they prefer. I will admit and this should be considered... I do find it easier to remove the emblems if nuts are used.

I actually found plastic barrel nuts that worked on mine, no rust to worry about.
