77 CW finally runs
« on: July 06, 2016, 05:21:38 PM »
After many hours of wiring, etc. an amazing thing happened today. The wagon finally got some life in the engine I swapped out from the 86 Ranger. When I finally got to the point where I thought it should start, it wouldn't. Then I was wondering what else I had to do, when it dawned on me that I had the coil wire to the dist. unhooked. I hooked it back up and the thing took right off. Now that the engine will run its on to lots of other cleaning up and adding seats, exhaust system etc.

Thanks. I was real happy when it finally belched fire. The wiring for the EFI can be real perplexing. But now I think I have a good shot at installing the 88 turbo motor sometime because the wiring is virtually done for it. I have to get it out of the donor car and get it apart to see what it needs and find a bell housing to use the T5 trans. Yeah lots of work to do for an old fart.

My eyesight taint what it used to be and that's a fairly small picture, but it appears that you have swapped over the EFI as well. Is that right? If so, then that's a great job!
