Moving right along !

I've been working on the white car getting it ready for a drive.
Adjust the diff angle last fall - just finished adjusting the ladder bars.
Drained the old fuel & have to pick new fuel up from the city.

Things are moving along pretty good! Good to see everyone else getting things done. I keep coming up with more and more ideas lol l might never get it finished if l don't stop! But I'm thinking about shaving the door handles.....mo lding in the side panels.....no windshield wipers and smoothing out and filling in the wiper arm holes in the cowl....

In Canada you need wipers & defroster to pass a safety

It will be registered as an antique. No state inspection required. I will have a heater/defroster though

whatever you do do not toss the A/C unit , one day you may want to put it back in , finding a whole system is almost imposable ,  got a friend with a 78 looking for a factory system for his car , yep in the HOT part of the south ,

No factory A/C, had a dealer installed unit. I don't plan on using it if anyone is interested I will sell it. No idea about the trans, scrapped everything.

now you got the hard part done the rest should be easy , that is the most difficult spot to get to and fix , bet that area was packed with leaves and other rust causing crud .

Man that was a project! Hats off to my brother the expert body man and fabricator he worked his butt off on that! And it really didn't have a lot of crud in there, (you're right, they usually do) the car sat in a dry building for 13 yeas then in my driveway for another 13, no trees around it at all. It just rusted around that vent. The passenger side is made different and it's solid.

Is that piece separate from the cowl like spot welded to it? Or was it cut?

Spot welds on the outermost edge, the rest was cut and then welded back together

Wonder if you took the whole cowl off and welded a hinge for the side pieces of the cowl and use a body weld glue instead spot weld the side pieces to make it somewhat easier access for whatever you needed  to get in there in the future. Also use seam sealer for where hinge is. Just a thought

That's a good thought, it's really difficult to clean them out. Hopefully this car will live indoors from now on and be a fair-weather driver!

On the 2 1972s that I've done there was over 100 spot welds.

After work was done & POR 15 used (I posted this I think in the Blue 72 Project) plus it will never be a daily driver ever again, it should last 100+ years.

Big job !

In between other things I rebuilt the heater case using parts from three different cars. The original had been modified somewhat because of the dealer installed a/c that I’m not reusing. New heater core, new foam on the doors and even though you won’t be able to see it l still painted it.
