Ok finally got my 78 running, bad news the heatercore leaks like crazy, any tips on replacing it, to make the job easier

Not that bad to do if you don't have air.  You can get to everything under the dash.  Just follow the manual if you have one.  The hardest part is to get the two hoses off the core.  I usally just cut them from the engine side and replace the hoses.  If you have to try to unscrew them from under the dash it is hard because of room.  I just pull the whole heater assembly out and work where there is more room.  I hate laying under dashs.  If you have air there is a lot more to deal with under there.

I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH RKK.GET THE BOX OUT OF THE CAR TO REPLACE THE CORE.I'VE DONE IT BOTH WAYS.NIGHT/DAY DIFFERENCE WITH IT OUT OF THE CAR.AND PSS.CUT & REPLACE THE HOSES.THEY(FORD)PUT A-STYLE CLAMPS INSIDE THE CAR UNDER DASH.THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO GET LOOSE IN THERE.TOMMYS.
