Title: 1977 Pinto Cruising Wagon Project
Post by: FarmerAngus on September 10, 2013, 07:53:15 PM
Well, I'm officially a Ford Pinto owner!

This '77 Wagon was my neighbors; he recently passed away and, since I enjoy recreating cars that the people around me have a connection to, I picked it up.

I absolutely love the car, even in its present condition; I have big plans to restore this, keeping the original paint scheme as the wacky stripes fit me personally and the gray compliments my Chevrolet El Camino.

The car has a few rusty spots and is in desperate need of a new paint job.  The interior is alright and the engine runs OK (the muffler is, well, on the ground).  Stock four cylinder engine with 4-speed manual transmission.  Overall, it does need work.

I know I am going to have a lot of fun and a lot of memories in this wagon and can't wait to see it all finished!

Also, I'm really interested in learning more about these Cruising Wagons...are they significantly rare nowadays?  How many were produced?

Thanks for looking!  Comments welcome.

As far as rare goes, the general public will not know what it is most of the time. I take my cruzin wagon to shows all the time and the most asked question is if I put the port hole windows in myself or are they stock.

WELCOME  FarmerAngus!

Nice find!  Pintos in general are pretty rare these days, and the Cruisin' Wagon even more so.  It looks like a good solid candidate for a restoration.  Have fun!
