This is an 8" solid axle rear end. Does anyone know if it will bolt in a 1973 Pinto wagon?
I'd also like to take the front disc brakes. But these were power brakes with a power booster.
What would anyone recommend for the front, or should I just take the old drums and put them on the Mustang II axle?
Well, any advise is greatly appreciated :D

I have a Mustang II 8" in my 73 Hatch. It pretty much bolted right in other than the driveshaft length. I am running the 73 brakes as well.

Thanks. So you removed the Mustang II drums and used the Pinto. Did you look at using disc brakes on the back?
Well, that would be easy enough I guess.
Thanks,
Dianne

I have the 8" in mine too. I'm going disc and 5-lug. And possibly some traction bars too.

FYI, you can yank the power booster off of most any power brakes to simply use a non power M/C and brakes will work fine. Depending on model can even bolt up with hardly any change at all, sometimes a booster holding bracket has to be unbolted from the firewall to enable room for the M/C by itself. The brakes will work with far less effort than a power booster with engine off to make no vacuum as well. The booster when not enabled takes quite a bit of force to work.
