Post by: chriss on November 09, 2015, 09:23:19 PM
Hi all. I have a '71 Pinto 2000, that I just pulled the motor out for rebuild, i  would like a little more power out of it, but nothing to radical, it's a C4 auto . can anyone suggest some ideas?

Chriss, a lot of information can be found in the recent post "Daugthers project 72" http://www.fordpinto.com/index.php?topic=26564.0, and much more can be found by using the search function when logged in.
http://www.burtonpower.com/tuning-guides/tuning-guide-pages/ford-sohc-pinto-tuning-guide.html will give you pretty detailed information on tuning the Pinto 2.0 engine in stages.
It' a little outdated because they don't talk about fuel injection, which is also possible.
It doesn't mention the American Pinto car anywhere but your engine is the same. It's the German built 2.0 SOHC.
They state that all Pinto (2.0) engines are rear-bowl sump but that's wrong, all Pinto car 2.0 engines are front-bowl sump.
