been able to make some head-way on the hotrod and thought I'd post some pic's.

That wood work is incredible.. Heck as good as your dash and the back panels look. Make a head liner as well. 8)

A wooden head liner? now that would be different. After changing the red interior color to grey (oem Pinto color) and mounting the walnut panels I'm able to start mounting the tubs for a final time seal to quarters and under coat. Then it's fuel pump& filter,fuel cell and trans cooler w/ fan and on and on. Yea for the project! The motor and trans are waiting to find a home. For those of you that may not know this project has been going on for around 3 1/2 years(eat the elephant one bolt at a time). Have tried to keep my gallery up to speed with a picture or two here and there. Hoping to hit the ground this spring in primer, we'll see.

I do think that it would look great. For sure nobody would have one like it. Not talking much weight. Not that it would be a problem with that motor that your installing for sure.
Heck you could have an overhead consule for gauges and switches and such.

My Sedandelivery came from the factory with wood panels in the interior similar to those, but of a cheaper type material. I tried to post a picture I have but it said the file was too large.

Had a great day and made a lot of headway! Wiring guy has all wiring done to the dash area(glad it's him and not me doing it) I got plug wires to coils and will size them this week. Sorry no wood headliner.

spent the morning building the throttle linkage, can't tell you how much I enjoy fabricating this stuff. Bud A sharp eye could tell what carb that is!

If it hasn't been messed with it looks like a 3310-2 or 3(750), my Boss 302 had a 3310-1(780 with a Ford part number))which had the secondary metering block.

both those attempts are not correct, a clue for me is the choke .

Ok I must be blind, I saw the choke area but I don't see a choke, looks to me like the choke horn has been milled off???.. Of course an 1850 can look like that too if you change bowls..

This carb has not been changed in any way, not a very common Holley carb. And yes there is a choke in the picture. (large hole)

And the answer is--- 950cfm Holley 3bbl. Did a few dyno pulls (950 dbl pumper 1050 and 3bbl) my set-up liked the 3bbl.

Had a little more time this afternoon to install the rear end and brake set-up. The wood blocks are so I can run the nuts tight for mock-up w/o getting into the nylock part of the nut, when it's off and on and off and on it speeds things up for me. Bud

Had some time to work on the hot rod this week(month) and pushed the ball a little farther down the field. Headers wrapped & sealed (that's a fun job) exhaust built and hung. Trans came back so was able to finish lines, get pinion angle and drive shaft welded & balanced. Also Ralph was able to get back to wiring again(fell and broke his right wrist a few months a go),I get overwhelmed just looking a all those wires. Not Ralph, he wires firetrucks so he oddly enough enjoys it.

Thanks Dianne, I'm hopping the heat shield will keep the master cyl. from the header heat,only time will tell. I don't think the line lock or perportioning valve will have any trouble.

Did that to a Ford van I had. Worked out great & looked real good.

I'm not quite sure how a wooden head liner would be with exhaust that's more than likely going to have a deep rumble, feel a head liner would absorb better.

Found some time Sunday to work on the hot rod,pushed the wiring ball a little farther down the field. All wires are extended to the fuse/rely area and are ready to find their homes, that will be a large part of the project done. Received the stall converter and flex plate this week so it should not be to long till I the hot rod comes to life. What a day that will be!

The other day I needed to haul two, 16 ft. 2 X 4's. This is my rendition of a Woodie Wagon. Those are 12 footers coming out the rear hatch too.
Over the door handle, under the mirror. Bungee each end to follow the body contours. Staple on the flags. No problem. Well..., until I had to get my 57 year old body to do a NASCAR entry/exit.

Wittsend, might need to put that under '' wood on wagon''. Some days you just got to do what you got to do to get the job done! Thank God for the bungee cord.

Is the mat the light weight stuff or the tar backed stuff ?
I used the self adhesive tar backed in my white car. Stuff was hard to deal with - the adhesive is really sticky stuff ! If it folded & touched tar/tar it was nearly impossible to separate !
Going with the light weight next time.

Pinto5.0 you do win the'' wood in wagon''prize! Reeves1 I did use the thick tar style matte, found a slick way to apply it. Just make a lite cut threw the paper backing about inch and half from the starting edge and pull that pc. off, stick it down and work the rest of the paper off as you apply matte down. It did'nt hurt that most of the area was open and flat. After 4 years of this project I have started to install systems for the last time, fuel system in,trans cooler and lines in,motor w/ oil system(dry sump) in and primed, power steering in and filled and bled,all hoses and belts on. To tell you the truth I'm about half freaked out,for those of you that have never done a project like this you may not under stand that statement. After four years of on and off and on and off it's hard to comprehend it's being put on for the last time(all thats left of the Pinto is the shell and front frame rails/rad support).Still a lot of work to be done,but hope to start it in a few weeks. Well the day I had been looking for showed up last Friday, the boy and I took the hot rod off the rotisserie and set it on the ground. Put fire to the beast on Saturday, what a moment that was!!!

Had a small window to test fit the dash with most the wiring done, so good so far. Ign. brain box & junctions behind glove box.
