« on: August 02, 2012, 04:19:46 PM »
a while ago i put a wanted add for a street strip pinto, i ended up seeing an add on this site for such a car, its a 71/ fitted 302/c4/ford 9" stroker 330 cubes afr heads its a trunk model with folddown rear seats all street equip still hooked up its a lovely rust free cali car,
i ran it at the local track last weekend it went 11.45/115 mph on drag radials very impressive its actually a car for my 4 girls to play with one of them went 12.77 first pass never driven a v8 or auto or lhdrive magic,

i bought the car off a guy in cali very honest guy some bits were below par but thats useuall that we want to make a bit better, really chuffed will try to add pic but doubt it, the track is santa pod raceway england,

this event is a once a yr gig called the mopar euronationals and all musclecars are welcome,
now i am well known in mopar circles in england race a 9 sec challenger and did own for a brief while the texas big bird pro mod, so when i wheeled the pinto out it was a shock to say the least, but all very positive had a lot of nice comments on the car,  when i got it it was all black i painted the boss stripes on... always wanted my dad to do that to his 2 litre jobbie back in the 70,s, and had it lettered up with my transmission shop details a tribute to my dad and my girls names it looks cool and will deffo race more than street drive

That is a cool car. What is the tire size/wheel combo? the stance is very nice.

Any more pics of the engine, interior or underneath?

took the pinto racing back a few weeks and the little boss went 11.2 118 mph and my daughter 6th pass ran a 11.4 118 mph,
its a belting little car so glad i held out for a street strip car rather than a original car with a small engine.

Really nice street strip car.  Am curious about when you were into Pro Mod and where and what Division (IHRA, ADRL or other)

Hope your girls do well with the car.

hi dick

i never ran the texas big bird i got into a cash situation and had to roll it on its ended up now in  europe. it was a bummer at the time but it could off been a money nightmare,  to be honest i have so enjoyed running this little pinto and the involvement with my girls is brilliant, i will have my challenger out for 2013 its a kos car full bodied no tubs etc 10.5 tire has run 9.4 146 that is a ride.
