Manual transmission outputshaft size??
« on: June 23, 2014, 06:46:51 PM »
Hi,

Building a road racer for lemons racing and have put a 8.8 rear end in it out of a Turbo Tbird. I am going to run the 4 speed manual and am having a hell of a time finding out what output spline size is so I can investigate the driveshaft options.

I know some people have used an aluminum rear driveshaft from a 97 4wd Aerostar van but I don't know what the splines are to make sure it can work.

I can probably use the stock driveshaft and get a flange yoke for the 8.8 and a crossover U-joint and make it work.

Appreciate the help

Paul

The C3 output is the same as well, at least on a '80 model with MTX.
