Thanks! I'm looking forward to alot of fun with it! I just have to finish the diesel engine swap in my Festiva first... :)

just curious, but why are you putting a diesel in the festiva? (cool little cars by the way. i had an '88)

short answer; why not?  ;D

Actually building it for a friend. I aquired a 1.7L Mazda PN diesel from a New Zealand Mazda Familia (323), from an associate in the Phillipines. The Familia was claimed to acheive 70+MPG. The Festiva is a good 500-600lbs lighter than a 323/Familia, so me and a friend surmized that with that engine, and some airflow management, we may able to acheive 100mpg... Since my friend John drives all over the east coast (can't say what he does, but it involves nuclear chemistry), we decided that we'd build it, and he would give a real-world evaluation.  8)

On the Festiva- let us know what kind of mileage you end up with, sounds interesting.
