I think this car is turbo'd at the present and runs high 8's in the quarter.
Definitely a wild ride.

Where's the distributor? Has it been converted to a crank trigger?
First glance it looks like a 2.3 , but all the intakes are round. Is it an aluminum head or does the manifold just not match the port or???
The body has been dropped on that really far! look how far up the engine sticks out the top. I guess you can do that with a tube frame.
looks like it ran 9s n/a and 8s with a turbo? That's dang fast!

i would guess the 2.3 also.

i know some of heads on the 2.3s are different oval port and d-ports.

the intake probaly does not match up completly or they did work to the head of it

Looks like a lot of fun. I say it's a 2.3 head with an esslinger aluminum high port with inj. I wish I had an extra 10,000.00 grand laying around. COOL!!! car anyways.

I found this impressive Pinto on the web some where and wrote down the some of the details below.  Unfortunately I did not write down the link address.

Fred House of Rockhill, PA. with Housepower Engines 814-447-3064.  2500 w/ Crower crank & rods, Wiseco pistons, G-Force 5 speed, McLeod clutch. ice water intercooler, ET 8.92 @ 149.9, with 18psi boost.  Ran 9.8 ET @137mph before turbo was installed.

I have five more photos of the Pinto in turbo configuration and at the strip but they are saved in a Word document (could not figure out how to attach the 175kb file).  If any body wants them, I can email them.

The Pinto I had I gave to my brother. The car was originally my mom's, (78 red Pinto sedan with a 2.3 and a 4spd.) I am originally from Tucson, AZ but moved to Oxnard CA :D
I'm looking for a Pinto wagon with an automatic.
