76 Pinto MPG Wagon deal....
« on: April 18, 2012, 03:55:39 PM »
Had my 77 RV up for sale, and this guy offered a straight trade for his 76 Pinto MPG wagon. He initally said it was a 74 w/the 2.0 engine. Well, I did the swap today, and brought her home. Very straight body. No visible rust, although the car was back-yard painted at some time in it's past. The guy I got it from traded for it from the original owner, and only had it a few days, so I would consider myself the second owner of it. Carpet is needing cleaning, one small crack in the dash, seats average for it's age. Runs good, but need to bleed the brakes, and align the front end.
Not a bad deal for a 750.00 stripped out RV.

I'm posting pics. Let me know what you think of this trade...I think it's amazing as I was really wanting an MPG model, but wasn't sure what it was till I put my eyes on it.

Nice but get rid of those 5 Lug wheel covers. The car looks great.

Been getting a LOT of comments on the car since I've been driving it. Photos taken, etc...Most folks I talk to remember the Pinto fondly, but just don't see them on the road anymore. I gotta admit, that I do not see em either. I think I see a Pinto or Maverick maybe once a year, at best. This is the FIRST wagon I've seen since High School...Grad of 79. :)
