have the 2.3 in my 78 wagon and want to swap cams and not sure what to look for, as far as in a mustang or ranger. are they different or the same and if diff which is a better choice for performance.

Lots of people have had great luck with the Ranger/Mustang roller swap, and you can get them fairly cheap used, not sure what year Ford went to the "Roller" cam, you'll need springs for a Roller cam also... from what I have read, the Mustang and Ranger roller cams are just a tad different from each other....   Bo-Port racing has some nice aftermarket grinds for roller setups...

thanks pinturbo75. its just food for thought right now, looking for an older turbo setup off an 1979-83 mustang so i can avoid going to an efi set up.

or if i could find a old school super charger or turbo charger set up i would do that, would like to make car look like it would if it was built in the 70's, with my cragars and so on.

the cam was a thought for performance so i thought.

I have the complete draw thru turbo setup off my '80 Pinto if you are interested. It was off a '79 Mustang Pace Car. It was running when I pulled it off to drop in a V8. I have the intake & exhaust manifold as well as the turbo, the feed pipe & probably a few misc. parts. $75 plus shipping & it's all yours. I really have no use for it & I don't want to scrap it. The turbo may need seals but the impeller is tight.
'73 Sedan (I'll get to it)

'80 hatch(Restoring to be my son's 1st car)~Callisto
'71 half hatch (bucket list Pinto)~Ghost
'72 sedan 5.0/T5~Lemon Squeeze
