I just got my welding Co2 tank filled back up after I made the mistake of leaving it on. I welded one wk came back a wk later went to turn the tank on and was like why is it so hard to turn on? Then it hit me to try and turn it the other way. I'm not going to make that mistake again. Luckily its not a very expensive one only $35 to fill back up.

How big is your tank? Mine is roughly a 6" diameter and 24"" tall (less the valve). Back in 2020 it cost me  $62 for Argon/Co2. Here in California a bit more than half that cost is the gas itself, the rest are "fees." But, yea, I HATE when the tank is left open. Talk about "throwing your money to the wind." Now I close the valve and check it at least three times and then every day for about three days after. The good news is that (assuming I have closed the valve) I get well over 5 years out of a tank, but that is also a testament to what I'm NOT getting done. :(

Oh, and also, YET AGAIN I type in the typing pane and it shows as a 10 point font (I left it to be seen - or better said not). Yet when it posts it is tiny to the max! I have to copy the whole text, reset it to 10 point and only then is it correct.

My 72 wagon uses the same turn signal as a Mustang. The Ford number for a 71-72 Pinto is D2ZZ-13341A which is interchangeabl e with several other Ford cars. When my turn signal finally died, my mechanic called National Parts Depot, among other suppliers, and asked for a Pinto turn signal unit. Of course they just laughed. I gave him the original part number and told him to ask for a 71-72 Mustang with-out tilt steering wheel turn signal and there was no problem finding a new part.

Cool. Thanks for posting. Is there a tech section on site where this kind of stuff can be found? I'm going to be looking for a lot of different parts over the next while.

Not alot to update on, haven't done much. Just little more underside cleaning then primer then undercoating.  Also cut out this piece of rust under the passenger backseat area.  I just got my welding Co2 tank filled back up after I made the mistake of leaving it on. I welded one wk came back a wk later went to turn the tank on and was like why is it so hard to turn on? Then it hit me to try and turn it the other way. I'm not going to make that mistake again. Now I have it filled back up I can start welding again. Yay. Thats all for now

Yea, the seat width area on the Pinto is kind of tight.  I used the seats out of my donor Turbo Coupe. The seats have adjustable side bolsters and I have to crank them in all the way. Good thing I'm slim. I wound up using the Pinto tracks.

Picked up a pair of 2012 Ford Focus seats today... for free! They look to be in decent shape. Need a cleaning maybe. And one plastic handle needs replacing. Hopefully its new enough that ford has parts. No pics as its dark out and I didn't think of getting any when I was looking at them closer. They are grey. I'll need to die them to match interior color.

Never thought of the Urethane method, will have to check out YouTube to see how its done. Might be able to finance the process with my spare rotors. LOL I am also one who does not visit the site like I did in the past.

Decided to do a compression test. Sparkplugs are indicating rich on every cylinder. Compression is not encouraging.

Dry/Wet

1) 75/

2) 100/

3) 120/

4) 100/

5) 75/

6) 70/75

Only did #6 for wet psi and got discouraged. I'll have to dig out my leak down tester and get my compressor operational. Which means running about 200 feet of "temporary" wire from the breaker to where I am. I only have 20 amp at my place right now, and need more to run the 5hp electric compressor motor. Probably won't get done tomorrow and were getting a big dump of snow starting tomorrow night for the next few days.
